🟦🟨 GUEST RESEARCHER PROFILE- MR. IFEANYI NGWOKE. Mr. Ifeanyi Ngwoke is a public health researcher and infectious disease specialist from Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science, a Master of Science in Infection Prevention and Control, and is completing a Postgraduate Diploma in One Health at the University of Edinburgh as a Mastercard Foundation Scholar. He currently works as Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Officer at YouthRISE Nigeria, where he manages evidence systems for HIV and harm reduction programmes. His research spans HIV prevention, emerging infectious diseases, and One Health in Africa, with nine peer-reviewed publications to his name. The paper being discussed today, "Barriers and Facilitators of Oral PrEP Uptake Against HIV Among Selected Priority Populations: A Global Perspective" is his first first-author publication, released in Current HIV/AIDS Reports in 2026. It synthesises evidence from across the globe on why certain populations struggle to access and stay on oral PrEP, and what needs to change. Habeeb Omoponle Adewuyi, PhD, is a Senior Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Educational Psychology, Faculty of Education, University of Johannesburg, South Africa. He holds a PhD in Educational Psychology and Child Development from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, where he also earned two Master's degrees in Educational Psychology and in School Counselling and Public Health. Dr Adewuyi's research interests span educational psychology, public health, inclusive education, artificial intelligence in education, child development, and adolescent mental health. He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed articles published in high-impact Scopus and Web of Science-indexed journals. 🟨🟦 GUEST RESEARCHER PROFILE- MR. KORFII UEBARI. Mr. Uebari Korfii is a multidisciplinary researcher with over 10 years of experience supporting health research and programmes across Nigeria. His work spans maternal and child health, reproductive medicine, HIV/AIDS, COVID-19, vaccine uptake, mental health, environmental health, and health systems strengthening, with a strong focus on evidence-based research and translating evidence into policy and practice. He holds a Master of Science in Environmental Chemistry from Rivers State University and a Master of Business Administration from Miva Open University, Nigeria. He is currently completing a Master of Public Health at the University of Port Harcourt as well as a PhD in Environmental Chemistry in Rivers State University, Port Harcourt. He also has several public health certificates from the University of Washington through its Global Health E-Learning Program (eDGH), McGill University, Canada, and the Barcelona Institute for Global Health – ISGLOBAL. Mr. Korfii has served as a Principal Investigator and lead researcher on multiple nationally and internationally funded studies. He is the recipient of the Early Career Research Grant from the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH), funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), where he led a mixed-methods study on COVID-19 vaccination uptake, barriers, and facilitators among key populations living with HIV/AIDS in Rivers State, Nigeria. In addition, he has received competitive research and professional development awards from the Royal Society of Chemistry, McGill University, and international global health training programmes. Nicholas Aderinto, M.D. is a physician-scientist and editor whose work in stroke recovery, neurorehabilitation, and translational neuroscience has earned international recognition. He is currently pursuing a Doctoral Program at the University of Utah, where his research focuses on novel neuromodulation strategies to improve functional outcomes in stroke survivors. His work and leadership have made him one of the most visible and influential early-career neuroscientists from Africa contributing to global neurological health. Dr. Aderinto has authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles in leading journals, including The Lancet, Nature, Current Neurology and Neuroscience Reports, Current Treatment Options in Neurology, European Journal of Medical Research, and Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery. His research has been cited more than 2,000 times, with an H-index of 24. According to Elsevier’s SciVal analytics, he ranks among the Top 500 Researchers in all subject areas in Africa (2020–2026). In 2024 and 2025, he was nominated for Wiley’s Research Hero of the Year Award, recognizing scientists whose work demonstrably impacts public health and global research visibility.
