Extraordinary: The Fight for Reproductive Justice
Abigail Leonard is an American journalist who was living in Japan when she become a mother. Noticing the differences between Japanese and American parenthood, she wrote Four Mothers to see what it was like to be a mother in other countries and cultures. She followed moms through their birth experiences and first years in Kenya, Japan, Finland, and the United States. What she found is that government policy profoundly shaped each woman's ability to manage--and occasionally even enjoy--bringing a new baby into their lives. ---------------------------------------- Hosted on Acast.
