Faith Through The Fire
Most people approach God with one question.."Are you on my side?"It's the same question Joshua asked when he looked up and saw a man standing outside Jericho with a drawn sword. "Are you for us or for our enemies?" And the answer stopped everything. Neither. Not for you. Not against you. The Commander of the Lord's Army didn't show up to join Joshua's battle plan. He showed up to take command of it. Joshua's job wasn't to get God on his side β it was to take off his sandals and submit to the side God was already on.That's what Joshua 5:13-15 reveals. And once you see it you can't unsee it. The sandals weren't just footwear. In ancient culture sandals carried the dirt of every place you'd walked. Your old life. Your striving. Your agenda. Your plans built without God. And the Commander said β what you're carrying can't come with you into what I'm about to give you. You can't bring your dirt into the holy ground He's already prepared. Most people are still trying to get God to join their plan. Still praying "God be on my side." Still wondering why He isn't showing up the way they expected. But God was never auditioning to be on your team. He's the Commander. You submit to Him or you stay outside the Promised Land.
