Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2560162/fan_mail/new] We are continuing steady in Season 1 titled “Back to the Basics.” Episode 12, “Foundation is Everything” which will take us into the closing statement of Jesus in His first public sermon.  The story has been preached many times, but in my preparation, I felt like the Lord told me to present this in a different way than I’ve ever heard it before.  We all know we either build our life on Christ or we don’t. That trials come and we either stand or fall. We’ve heard it 1,000 times.  However, the Lord took me into a preset day application that may not be so popular in society. But I’m not here to appease the position of people, and while I love people and want to be friends with everyone, I must be obedient. So if you agree, awesome, and if you don’t, I love you anyway, and I hope you’ll still stick around.  The world around us fixated on the hot topic of deconstructing their faith and many have walked away from God, the church or both due to a crisis in their faith.  I came today to present that both examples of the people in Jesus’ sermon heard the word. But only one received it and built upon it. Both had storms come, but only one stood firm. When storms come, questions are going to rise. That is a normal human response. God is not scared of our questions, and faith most assuredly can survive even the toughest questions.  Most people in their deconstruction stories are talking about a search for truth—but I dare to say it isn’t a search for the truth and validity of God that they find, because nothing and no uncertainty will ever diminish His existence or His position—but rather the truth of their foundations are revealed. Like I said, today is gonna be a little touchy, maybe even controversial, but I hope you take a listen and gain something from this. This will wrap up Season 1 for us. In season one, we are mirroring Feeding Sheep in the sense that we are covering topics that are getting us “back to the basics.” We will be discussing foundational truths in this season that everyone needs to know and be able to grow and build upon in the times to come.  “God Teaches Me” uses Isaiah 54:13 as our text of choice and memory verse for the week. We will discuss how God teaches us and what that training brings into our lives and the sources He uses to teach us.  Just as our earthly parents and other adults teach us along life’s journey, God does the same. He’s so amazing that He equips us with a built in teacher when we become born again—the Holy Spirit. His Word teaches us, Holy Spirit speaks to us and helps teach and guide us, we learn through prayer, and through the believers that the Lord has placed around us in our lives.  Last weeks lesson on correction really set us up for today’s lesson. God uses correction as a teaching method, along with our life experiences.  He starts teaching us young because we are never too small to be of use and value in His kingdom. No matter our age, we are just as much of a son or daughter of God as any grown up  can find, and we’re never too small to fulfill his purpose in our lives!  I hope that you and your littles enjoy today’s word. Can’t wait to see you back for Season 2 on June 5! The most important place we can connect with our children is through sharing our faith. God at the center of any relationship only allows it to become as strong as it can be. Don’t just build memories of vacations, adventures, sports, or school, build memorials of faith that will last throughout eternity.  We pray that you will listen with your children and let these “mini podcasts” be a doorway to having important conversations about living out their faith, and what it means. Take time to ask them questions and really engage in their spiritual walk! It’ll transform the whole spiritual dynamic of the family if you will. In season one, we are mirroring Feeding Sheep in the sense that we are covering topics that are getting us “back to the basics.” We will be discussing foundational truths in this season that everyone needs to know and be able to grow and build upon in the times to come.  “God Corrects Me” uses Proverbs 3:12 as our text of choice and memory verse for the week. We will discuss how God corrects us and what His correction brings into our lives and the source from where His correction comes.  Just as our earthly parents and other adults correct us and discipline us along life’s journey, God does the same. Even GPS corrects us or reroutes us when we go off course.  His correction comes from His great love for us. We are His children, and He wants us to be His image in the earth. If He doesn’t correct us, the image will not be clear, and people will not know that we truly belong to Him.  He corrects us through His word, through speaking to us directly, and sometimes through other people in accordance with our experiences. His correction never means that He hates us, or that He is finished with us, but rather that He loves us SO much, that He refuses to let us continue going down a wrong path unchecked. He can’t bear the thought of us not arriving at the destination that He has in mind for us.  Correction/discipline is never pleasant in the moment, but Hebrews tells us that when we receive it and adhere to it, His correction yields in us the peaceful fruit of righteousness. Peace is priceless, and knowing that we are “living right” with God, gives a great sense of fulfillment in us.  He most assuredly knows what He is doing. Feeding Sheep S1E11 “Sermon on the Mount: It’s simple, One or the Other”

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2560162/fan_mail/new] We are continuing steady in Season 1 titled “Back to the Basics.” Episode 11, “It’s Simple, It’s One or the Other”, which will take us into another layer of how to discern what and who is around us.  The key is to KEEP IT SIMPLE. Our world has a tendency to overcomplicate EVERYTHING. We live in a time of illusions and things not being exactly as they seem. So this practical principle that Jesus shares with us in His debut message, is one that we often overlook, but I believe we need to cling to now more than ever.  In a world trying to blur all of the lines, a people who love to live in the middle, Jesus says keep it simple.  A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit.  If the fruit is bad, so is the tree. The fruit don’t lie. The words may sound correct, the appearance may be giving sheep, but eventually the fangs of the wolf will show, and the tree will yield what it is made of.  Knowing whether a tree is bad or good, or a sheep is a wolf in disguise or not, still does not give us a license to slay or pluck up the wolf or the tree. What we see we are responsible to carry to the Lord in PRAYER first. He will cut down every tree that doesn’t yield good fruit and throw it into the fire.  There is still a heaven to gain and a hell to shun! No matter what deconstructionists say. Hell is real, and if we aren’t born again, we will go there. It was never made for us, but we will go if we refuse the saving blood and the Lordship of Jesus Christ.  We will hear depart from me, you who practice lawlessness on that day if we have not surrendered our lives to Him.  There is a difference  between a mistake and bad fruit. One drop of bad water isn’t enough to corrupt the fruit. But drinking from a polluted well (living a lifestyle of unrepentant sin) will pollute the fruit.  May we all soberly examine ourselves. May we keep it simple, and not be so hungry for the extraordinary that we walk in chaos and confusion.  I hope you enjoy this episode and will continue to follow along with us as we endeavor to walk this path together, and sit at the table of the Lord and feast together! Feeding Sheep S1E10 “Sermon on the Mount: Prayer, The Golden Rule & Two Gates”

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2560162/fan_mail/new] We are continuing steady in Season 1 titled “Back to the Basics.” Episode 10, Prayer, The Golden Rule, & Two Gates, which will take us through the last few steps of how we are to love God and people, how we are to interact with them, and segway us into walking out our salvation in practical manners with the introduction of the gates.. We go over “Ask, Seek & Knock” to begin with, finding that it doesn’t just mean do each of these three things one time and it’s a done deal, but the literal translation actually means, “keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking.” In doing so, while we are waiting to receive, find, and walk through the open door, we are coming into alignment with God’s desires and His heart for us. So if our asking, seeking, or knocking is in the wrong direction or amiss, we have time for Holy Spirit to work in our hearts to bring us back to the same page as God. It helps to keep us in His perfect will for our lives. The Golden Rule—treat others the way you would have them treat you! It is not an old wives tale, but it is actually scripture. We must remember that if we wouldn’t want it done to us, then we shouldn’t do it to our brothers and sisters. Jesus is serious about it! How we carry each other, or handle each other really matters. We’re not just caring for “people,” we are caring for His creation! People who are made in the very image and likeness of God.  Then we are introduced to the two gates. The Narrow Gate which leads to life, and the Broad Gate which leads to destruction. Gates have always been important in scripture. They set up a boundary and guard what the walls protect. Everything must be checked at the gate because there are just some things that DO NOT belong in the city. Gates are also places of exchange. They are points of transaction. Our old life must be left outside of the Narrow Gate. Sin does not belong past its entrance. The transaction is salvation that takes place at the Narrow Gate. A laying down of my old life to pick up a new one in Christ.  Next we will be talking about how we walk once we get past the gate! I’m excited, and I hope you will join me.
