Description

This week on Four Little Pills, I discuss several recent epilepsy-related news stories that caught my attention and connected deeply with my own personal experiences. I talk about publications surrounding autism screening for children with epilepsy, as well as the growing awareness of the connection between epilepsy, autism, and neurodivergence in children and adults. I also share my thoughts on the published clinical trial by Praxis and a groundbreaking study reported by Northwestern. Lastly, I discuss the uplifting story of a Florida news reporter that partnered with the Epilepsy Alliance in Florida to help bring more awareness about epilepsy to her community.

Four Little Pills Episode 3

This week on Four Little Pills, I take a deeper look at what’s happening in the world of epilepsy research and advocacy across the United States, Sub-Saharan Africa, and China. From Yale News and Northwestern Medicine's studies challenging long-held assumptions about epilepsy recovery and exploring the risks of SUDEP, to difficult conversations surrounding healthcare access and proposed Medicaid cuts in the U.S., this episode explores how policy, research, and lived experience continue to shape the epilepsy community. I also discuss growing research and awareness efforts in Kenya and across Sub-Saharan Africa, where epilepsy remains heavily impacted by poverty, limited healthcare access, infectious diseases, stigma, and cultural misconceptions. In addition, I explore new international research and reporting coming out of China and South Korea, reflecting on how epilepsy affects people differently around the world while also revealing the many shared struggles families face regardless of where they live. As always, I connect these stories back to my own personal experiences and thoughts as someone living with epilepsy, while encouraging listeners to continue speaking openly, learning, and supporting one another.

Four Little Pills Episode 1

Welcome to Four Little Pills—a space for honest conversations, quiet strength, and the stories we don’t always say out loud. In this first episode, I’m opening the door and inviting you in. This podcast is about navigating life through the lens of health, identity, and everything that comes with it—the questions, the challenges, the unexpected moments, and the growth in between. Each week, we’ll explore a variety of topics—from living with a serious medical condition like epilepsy and the emotional realities that come with it, to mental health, self-advocacy, relationships, and finding your voice in a world that doesn’t always understand. Some episodes will be deeply personal, others more reflective or informative—but all of them will be real. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, misunderstood, or like you’re carrying something invisible—this space is for you. You’re not alone here. Thank you for being part of the beginning. 💜
