Philippians 2:9-11 (KJV) "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." 1 Chronicles 29:11 (KJV) "Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all."   Introduction Every generation has looked for power. Some trust political power. Some trust military power. Some trust wealth. Some trust education. Some trust technology. Some trust influence and popularity. But history has proven that every earthly power eventually fades. Empires rise and fall. Kings reign and die. Economies prosper and collapse. Scientific discoveries become outdated. Even the strongest person eventually grows weak. There is only one power that has never diminished, never weakened, and never failed. It is the power of Almighty God revealed through the name of Jesus Christ. Mother Nellie Davis wrote, "There is no greater power than the power of Jesus." That is not just a beautiful statement—it is a biblical truth. When God created the heavens and the earth, He did not need tools, machinery, or human assistance. He simply spoke, and light pierced the darkness. Oceans stayed within their boundaries. Mountains rose. Stars filled the heavens. Life appeared because of the power of His Word. The God who created the universe by His Word is the same God who has invested saving, healing, delivering, and restoring power in the name of Jesus. If His Word could create a universe, His name can certainly transform a life. This month we have been celebrating Freedom and Favor. Both are possible because of Jesus. His power gives us freedom from what binds us. His favor brings us into what He has prepared for us. Today we will discover why there is no greater power than the power found in the name of Jesus.   I. The Name of Jesus Has Creative Power Everything begins with God's power. Genesis tells us that God spoke and creation obeyed. Darkness fled. Light appeared. Chaos became order. Life came from nothing. That same creative power is still working today. Jesus creates: * New hearts. * New minds. * New families. * New beginnings. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." Application The devil may say your life is ruined. Jesus says, "I make all things new." Freedom begins when God recreates your life.   II. The Name of Jesus Has Delivering Power Jesus did not merely come to impress people. He came to set captives free. Luke 4:18 (KJV) "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me... to preach deliverance to the captives..." The name of Jesus still breaks: * Chains of sin. * Fear. * Depression. * Addiction. * Bondage. * Shame. Example: The Demoniac of Gadara No chains could hold him. No people could control him. But one encounter with Jesus changed everything. The demons recognized His authority before the people did. The name of Jesus still has power. Freedom is not found in positive thinking. Freedom is found in Jesus.   III. The Name of Jesus Opens the Door to Favor Freedom is what God does in us. Favor is what God does through us and for us. Because of Jesus, doors open that no person can shut. Peter at the Beautiful Gate (Acts 3) Peter said, "Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk." That man experienced both freedom and favor. He was freed from his condition. He entered the Temple walking, leaping, and praising God. The same name that lifted him still lifts people today.   IV. The Name of Jesus Gives Victory Over Every Enemy Paul tells us that Jesus has been given the name above every name. That means every enemy is beneath Him. His name is greater than: * Sin. * Satan. * Sickness. * Fear. * Failure. * Death. * Every circumstance that tries to rule our lives. We do not fight for victory. We fight from the victory Christ has already won.   V. The Name of Jesus Brings Us Into God's Favor Throughout Scripture, people who trusted God found His favor. Noah found grace. Joseph found favor. Esther found favor. Daniel found favor. The apostles ministered with favor. The common thread was not their perfection. It was their faith in God. Today our access to God's favor comes through Jesus Christ. We are accepted because of Him. Blessed because of Him. Adopted because of Him. Favored because of Him.   Illustration Imagine standing before a vault filled with treasures. The vault belongs to your Father. Everything inside has already been purchased for you. But the door is locked. Then your Father places a key in your hand. That key is the name of Jesus. The power is not in the metal key. The power is in the authority behind it. When we pray in Jesus' name, live in Jesus' name, and trust in Jesus' name, we are appealing to the authority of the King of kings.   A Little Humor A little boy was asked, "Why do you pray so loudly?" He replied, "I'm not trying to help God hear me. I'm trying to help the devil hear who I'm talking to!" There is confidence when you know the power of Jesus' name.   Conclusion Mother Nellie Davis reminded us that there is no greater power than the power of Jesus. The God who hung every star in place... The God who feeds every bird... The God who sustains every living creature... Is the same God who has given us the mighty name of Jesus. That name still saves. That name still heals. That name still delivers. That name still restores. That name still opens doors. That name still gives favor. That name still changes lives.   Invitation Perhaps someone today feels trapped by fear, sin, disappointment, sickness, or despair. You have tried your own strength. Now trust the One whose power has never failed. There is freedom in His name. There is favor in His name. There is forgiveness in His name. There is salvation in His name. Acts 4:12 (KJV) "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." As we leave today, don't simply remember that Jesus has power. Remember that His power is available to everyone who believes in His name. Freedom comes because Jesus breaks every chain. Favor comes because Jesus opens every door. And both are made possible through the matchless, mighty, and magnificent name of Jesus Christ.   Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2359736/support]

God's Plan from the Beginning

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2359736/fan_mail/new] Freedom & Favor: God's Plan from the Beginning Theme Freedom is God's gift. Favor is God's blessing. From Genesis to Revelation, God has always desired to free His people from bondage and surround them with His favor. Theme Scriptures John 8:36 (KJV) "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." Psalm 5:12 (KJV) "For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield." Genesis 6:8 (KJV) "But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD." Introduction When we hear the words Freedom and Favor, our minds often go to the New Testament. We think about Jesus setting captives free, or we think about the blessings and favor of God resting upon His people. But long before Jesus was born in Bethlehem, the principles of freedom and favor were already woven into the very first pages of the Bible. Genesis is not merely the book of beginnings. It is the book that reveals God's original intention for mankind. Before there was sin... There was freedom. Before there was judgment... There was favor. Before there was bondage... There was blessing. The enemy has always tried to steal mankind's freedom, but God has always responded with grace, mercy, and favor. From Genesis chapters 1 through 8, we see God's plan unfold. Every chapter teaches us something about how God desires His people to live in freedom and enjoy His favor. This is not just Adam's story. It is our story. Because the same God who worked in Genesis is still working today. I. Freedom Begins with God's Design (Genesis 1) Genesis 1:26-27 (KJV) "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness..." The first thing we discover is that mankind was created free. Adam was not created in chains. He was not created in fear. He was not created in poverty. He was created in the image of God. God gave Adam authority over the earth. Freedom is God's original design. Notice that before Adam ever worked... God blessed him. Genesis 1:28 (KJV) "And God blessed them..." Favor came before labor. Before Adam earned anything... God blessed him. Lesson God's favor has always been His idea. II. Freedom Flourishes Through Fellowship (Genesis 2) God placed Adam in the Garden. Everything he needed had already been provided. Adam walked with God. He talked with God. He lived in God's presence. Real freedom is not doing whatever you want. Real freedom is walking with God every day. The greatest blessing in Eden was not the fruit. It was God's presence. When God is present... Favor follows. III. Freedom Is Lost Through Disobedience (Genesis 3) Satan convinced Eve that freedom meant independence from God. The serpent said, "You'll be like God." Instead of becoming freer... They became slaves. Sin always promises freedom... But delivers bondage. Before sin: No shame. No fear. No hiding. After sin: They hid. They blamed each other. They were separated from God. Sin always costs more than it promises. IV. God's Favor Continues Even After Failure (Genesis 3) Even after Adam and Eve sinned... God came looking for them. Genesis 3:9 (KJV) "And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?" God didn't ask because He lost Adam. He asked because Adam had lost himself. Then God clothed them. This is the first picture of grace. Even in judgment... God showed favor. V. Freedom Requires Right Worship (Genesis 4) Cain and Abel both worshiped. Only one pleased God. Freedom is not worshiping any way we choose. Freedom is worshiping God's way. Abel obeyed. Cain substituted. The lesson is simple: Favor follows obedience. Not convenience. VI. Freedom Is Preserved by Walking with God (Genesis 5) Among all the names in Genesis 5... One stands out. Enoch. Genesis 5:24 (KJV) "And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him." Everyone else died. Enoch walked. Everyone else ended in the grave. Enoch ended in glory. Walking with God brings extraordinary favor. VII. Freedom Stands Out in a Corrupt World (Genesis 6) The earth became violent. Sin multiplied. Everyone was doing what they wanted. It sounds much like today's world. Then comes one of the greatest verses in Scripture. Genesis 6:8 "But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD." One man. One family. One testimony. When everyone else compromised... Noah remained faithful. Favor doesn't require a majority. It requires obedience. VIII. Freedom Obeys Even When Others Don't (Genesis 6–7) God told Noah to build an ark. No rain had ever fallen. People laughed. People mocked him. But Noah kept building. Freedom means trusting God more than public opinion. Favor often looks foolish before it looks successful. For over a hundred years Noah built. Then one day... The rain came. The people who laughed wanted in. But it was too late. Faithfulness before the storm produced favor during the storm. IX. Freedom Is Protected by God's Favor (Genesis 7–8) When the flood came... The ark floated because God shut the door. Genesis 7:16 (KJV) "And the LORD shut him in." Noah didn't protect himself. God protected him. God's favor became his shelter. The same flood that destroyed the wicked... Lifted Noah higher. Notice this beautiful truth. The storm that judged the world... Became the very thing that carried God's people safely forward. What was destruction for one group became deliverance for another. That is what God's favor does. A Powerful Illustration Imagine two people standing outside while a storm is approaching. One ignores every warning. The other steps into a sturdy shelter. The storm comes upon both. The difference is not the storm. The difference is where they chose to stand. Jesus Christ is our Ark today. Those who are in Him have both freedom and favor. What We Learn from Genesis 1–8 Genesis 1 – Freedom begins with God's design. Genesis 2 – Freedom grows through fellowship with God. Genesis 3 – Sin steals freedom. Genesis 4 – Favor follows true worship. Genesis 5 – Walking with God brings favor. Genesis 6 – Grace finds the faithful. Genesis 7 – Obedience protects us. Genesis 8 – God always brings His people into a new beginning. Conclusion Genesis teaches us that God's desire has never changed. He created us to live free. He calls us to walk with Him. He warns us about the bondage of sin. He extends grace when we fail. He rewards obedience with favor. And He always provides a way of escape for those who trust Him. From the Garden of Eden to Noah's Ark, one truth shines through every chapter: God's freedom restores us, and God's favor sustains us. Today, Jesus Christ is our greater Adam, restoring what was lost in Eden. He is our greater Ark, providing salvation from judgment. Through Him we are not only free from sin, but we are also invited to walk in the favor of God every day. As you preach this message, you can close with this thought: "The first eight chapters of Genesis tell one story: God created us for freedom, sin brought us into bondage, grace offered us hope, and favor preserved those who walked with Him. The same God who gave Noah grace is the same God who, through Jesus Christ, gives us freedom and surrounds us with favor today."   Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2359736/support]

The Power of Freedom & Favor

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2359736/fan_mail/new] Sermon Title: The Power of Freedom & Favor Theme Scriptures Luke 4:18-19 (KJV) "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord." Psalm 5:12 (KJV) "For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield." John 8:36 (KJV) "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."   Introduction One of the greatest misunderstandings in the church is believing that freedom and favor are the same thing. They are connected, but they are not identical. Freedom is what God does in you. Favor is what God does for you. Freedom changes your heart. Favor changes your circumstances. Freedom breaks chains. Favor opens doors. Freedom removes what was holding you back. Favor brings you into places you could never reach by yourself. Many people want favor without first experiencing freedom. They want the promotion without the preparation. They want the blessing without the obedience. They want the crown without carrying the cross. Throughout the Bible, God first delivered His people, then He blessed them. He brought Israel out of Egypt before He brought them into Canaan. He freed Joseph from prison before placing him in the palace. He delivered David from the pasture before placing him on the throne. God's order has never changed. Freedom comes first. Favor follows. There is power when these two work together. Freedom gives you a new beginning. Favor gives you a new opportunity. Freedom changes your direction. Favor changes your destination. Today I want to show you how God's freedom and God's favor work together to transform an ordinary life into an extraordinary testimony.   I. Freedom Breaks Every Chain John 8:36 "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." Jesus did not come merely to make bad people better. He came to make dead people alive. Freedom means we are no longer slaves to: * Sin * Fear * Shame * Guilt * Addiction * Bitterness * The opinions of others Freedom begins on the inside. Until your heart changes, your circumstances can never truly satisfy you. Example: The Woman with the Issue of Blood (Mark 5:25–34) For twelve years she was bound by sickness. One touch from Jesus changed everything. Jesus first set her free from her condition before restoring her dignity. Freedom restores what bondage has stolen.   II. Favor Opens Doors No One Can Close Psalm 5:12 "For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield." Favor is God's divine advantage. It is when God places His hand upon your life. Favor will do in one day what years of human effort cannot accomplish. Favor causes people to help you who don't even know why they are helping you. Favor is God arranging circumstances behind the scenes. Example: Joseph Joseph had freedom from bitterness long before he received favor in Pharaoh's palace. His brothers imprisoned his dreams. Potiphar's wife lied on him. The butler forgot him. But God never forgot him. In one day God moved Joseph: From prison... To the palace... From prisoner... To Prime Minister. That is the power of favor.   III. Freedom Positions You for Favor Many people pray for favor while refusing God's process. God says, "Let Me free your heart first." You cannot carry God's favor while carrying unforgiveness. You cannot walk into your future while chained to your past. Freedom prepares you for favor. Example: Israel God brought Israel out of Egypt. Egypt represented bondage. The Promised Land represented favor. The wilderness was preparation. Many left Egypt. But only those who trusted God entered Canaan. Freedom starts the journey. Favor finishes it.   IV. Favor Gives You Influence God never blesses us merely for ourselves. He blesses us so we can bless others. Abraham Genesis 12:2 "And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee... and thou shalt be a blessing." God's favor always has a purpose. God didn't favor Joseph just to save Joseph. He favored Joseph to save nations. He didn't favor Esther simply to make her queen. He favored Esther to save an entire people. Sometimes the favor on your life isn't about you. It's about everyone God plans to reach through you.   V. Freedom and Favor Work Together When God gives freedom without favor... You are delivered. When God gives favor without freedom... You may destroy the blessing. But when God gives both... Lives are transformed. Freedom changes your character. Favor changes your opportunities. Freedom gives peace. Favor gives provision. Freedom gives purpose. Favor gives promotion. Freedom gives victory over yesterday. Favor opens tomorrow.   Illustration Imagine an eagle trapped inside a cage. Someone opens the cage door. The eagle now has freedom. But what gives the eagle the ability to soar? The wind beneath its wings. Freedom opened the cage. The wind lifted the eagle. Likewise... Jesus opens the prison door. God's favor becomes the wind that carries us where we could never go alone.   Biblical Examples of Freedom and Favor Noah * Freedom from a corrupt generation. * Favor in the eyes of the Lord. Genesis 6:8 "But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD."   Moses * Freedom from fear. * Favor before Pharaoh.   Ruth * Freedom from her painful past. * Favor in the field of Boaz.   Daniel * Freedom from compromise. * Favor before kings.   Esther * Freedom from fear. * Favor before the king.   The Early Church Freedom through Christ. Favor with the people. Acts 2:47 "Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." Notice the order. Freedom produced favor. Favor produced growth.   A Little Humor A man prayed, "Lord, I need favor." The Lord replied, "I've been trying to give it to you, but you keep quitting before I open the door!" Sometimes our breakthrough is only one more prayer away... One more act of obedience... One more step of faith. Don't stop just because the door hasn't opened yet.   Conclusion God never intended for His children merely to survive. He has called us to live in freedom and to walk in favor. The enemy wants to keep you bound. God wants you blessed. The enemy reminds you of your past. God speaks to your future. The enemy builds prisons. God opens doors. Freedom says, "My chains are gone." Favor says, "My future has begun."   Invitation Perhaps someone today needs freedom from sin, fear, addiction, guilt, or unforgiveness. Others have already experienced freedom but need God to open doors that only He can open. The good news is that the same Savior who breaks chains is the same Lord who pours out favor. Come to Him today. He will set you free. He will establish your steps. He will surround you with favor as with a shield. And when God's freedom and favor come together in your life, what the enemy meant for evil, God will turn into a testimony that brings Him glory. "Freedom gets you out of bondage, but favor brings you into blessing. When God sets you free, He is also preparing a place for you that only His favor can provide."   Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2359736/support]

Fight For Your Freedom, favor will come

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2359736/fan_mail/new] Sermon Title: Fight for Freedom—Favor Will Come Monthly Theme: Freedom & Favor Theme Scriptures (KJV) Galatians 5:1 "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." 2 Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." Introduction There are some things in life that are simply worth fighting for. A soldier fights for his country. A firefighter fights to save lives. A parent fights for the well-being of their children. A patient fights through sickness for another chance to live. Throughout American history, men and women fought for freedom. The Revolutionary War secured the nation's independence. During the Civil War and the years that followed, countless people sacrificed so that slavery would end. The Civil Rights Movement required courageous men and women who marched, prayed, endured beatings, arrests, and injustice so future generations could enjoy greater freedom. Every freedom we enjoy came because someone was willing to fight. The same is true spiritually. The devil never willingly releases people from bondage. He fights to keep people addicted. He fights to keep families divided. He fights to keep churches weak. He fights to keep believers discouraged. But God never intended His children to surrender. He called us to fight—not with fists, but with faith. Not with hatred, but with holiness. Not with worldly weapons, but with the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. Here's the encouraging news: If you keep fighting for your freedom, God's favor is waiting on the other side of the battle. 1. Freedom Is Worth Fighting For Galatians 5:1 (KJV) "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." Paul says, "Stand fast." That means don't quit. Don't surrender. Don't return to what God already delivered you from. The enemy wants you to go backward. God calls you to stand firm. Some battles are not about gaining freedom—they are about keeping the freedom God has already given you. 2. Every Child of God Will Face a Fight Ephesians 6:12 (KJV) "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Your greatest battle isn't against people. It's against spiritual forces. The devil will use: * Fear * Temptation * Discouragement * Division * Bitterness * Doubt Never mistake people for the real enemy. Fight the spirit behind the problem. 3. Fight With the Right Weapons 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 (KJV) "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)" God has already equipped us. Our weapons include: * Prayer * The Word of God * Faith * Worship * Fasting * Obedience The devil cannot defeat a believer who stays on his knees before God. 4. Your Fight Today Can Produce Favor Tomorrow Joseph Joseph fought through betrayal, slavery, false accusations, and prison. He never quit trusting God. Genesis 41:39-41 (KJV) "And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled... And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt." Joseph's prison became the pathway to promotion. His fight produced favor. 5. David Fought Goliath Before He Wore the Crown 1 Samuel 17:45 (KJV) "Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied." David fought before he became king. Your giant may be preparing you for your next level. Sometimes your greatest battle introduces you to your greatest blessing. 6. Jesus Fought the Greatest Battle for Our Freedom Colossians 2:14-15 (KJV) "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us... and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it." Jesus fought at Calvary. He defeated sin. He defeated death. He defeated hell. He defeated Satan. Because Jesus won the battle... We can live in freedom. 7. Favor Always Follows Faithfulness 2 Timothy 4:7-8 (KJV) "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." Paul didn't say life was easy. He said, "I fought." He didn't say there were no battles. He said, "I finished." Because he kept fighting... A reward was waiting. The lesson is simple: Fight today. Favor tomorrow. Biblical Examples of Fighting Before Favor Jacob He wrestled with God all night before receiving a new name and a blessing. Joshua He fought many battles before Israel possessed the Promised Land. Esther She risked her life before becoming the instrument God used to save an entire nation. Nehemiah He fought opposition while rebuilding Jerusalem's walls, yet God gave success and honor. Blind Bartimaeus He fought through the crowd, refused to be silenced, and received both his sight and a new future. Illustration A butterfly struggles to emerge from its cocoon. One day a man tried to help by cutting the cocoon open. The butterfly came out easily—but it never flew. The struggle was necessary because it forced fluid into its wings, making them strong enough to fly. Sometimes we ask God to remove every struggle. God says, "The struggle is preparing you for the favor that is coming." Application Ask yourself: * What battle am I facing today? * Am I fighting with God's weapons or my own? * Have I become discouraged too soon? * What favor might God be preparing through this struggle? Don't quit. Don't give up. Don't retreat. Your battle has an expiration date. Conclusion Freedom is not free. It requires a fight. The Israelites fought before entering Canaan. David fought before wearing the crown. Joseph endured prison before ruling Egypt. Paul fought before receiving his crown. Jesus fought at Calvary before the empty tomb. And now God says to His people: Keep fighting. Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep standing. Because the battle you're fighting today is preparing you for the favor God has already planned for tomorrow. Closing Scripture – Romans 8 "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us." Closing Declaration Fight for your freedom. Fight for your family. Fight for your faith. Fight for your future. And don't lose heart, because when God gives you the victory, His favor will surely follow.   Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2359736/support]
