1 Peter 5:1-5 Main Idea: Suffering sheep need shepherds who reflect the Good Shepherd. Truth 1: Suffering sheep need shepherds who are present. Warning 1: Beware the shepherd who doesn't smell like sheep. Truth 2: Suffering sheep need shepherds who serve willingly. Warning 2: Beware the shepherd who only does what's required. Truth 3: Suffering sheep need shepherds who care more about people than profit. Warning 3: Beware the shepherd whose care is contingent upon compensation. Truth 4: Suffering sheep need shepherds worth following. Warning 4: Beware the shepherd who doesn't practice what he preaches. Refining Starts with the Redeemed- 1 Peter 4:12-19

Main Idea: God uses the fire of suffering to refine His people and prepare them for glory. Main Question: How should we understand and respond to God's refining fire? * Since our God is refiner, we shouldn't be surprised by the fire. * SInce God is preparing you for Glory, you can sacrifice momentary comfort for Eternal satisfaction. * Since God is both the Judge and the Refiner, we must learn to discern the fire. * Since our God is faithful, we can trust Him in the midst of the fire.
