Episode 5: Eran Masas

In Episode 5 of Giborim Podcast we meet Eran Masas. Eran didn't need to do what he did on October 7th but, at the same time, he had no choice. He was a retired officer in the reserves, a husband, a father of 4. When he heard what was happening, his higher-self pushed him to dig out his old uniform, grab his pistol, and drive directly to the scene. Episode 1: David Machness Part 1

Episode 1 is  part 1 of 2 with Rabbi David Machness, David is a miluimnik, or a reservist soldier, who was originally a non-combat army medic who found himself suddenly converted to combat. David tells us his story beginning with getting the call on on October 7th through multiple missions in Gaza. David shares with us his experience dealing with fear, experiencing miracles, and what it was like serving under the iconic commander, the late Tomer Greenberg, who fell in battle. This is David’s story.

Episode 4: David Machness Part II

Welcome to the Giborim Podcast, where we meet Jewish heroes and hear their stories of stepping up in the aftermath of the dark day, October 7th. Today’s episode is part II of our conversation with David Machness. In part I, David shared his experiences at the onset of the war, how he coped with fear, and recounted their miraculous and successful first mission in Gaza. In part II, David delves into the more complex missions that followed and shares what it was like to serve under the iconic leader, Tomer Greenberg, of blessed memory.

Episode 2: Roey & Elad

Today’s episode is with Roey Rachamim and Elad Ben-Ami. Roey and Elad are the head officers of Company Kaf, a reserve infantry unit who were called to duty on October 7th. Roey and Elad share with us the story of how they fought terrorists both inside Israel and in Gaza, how they motivated their soldiers after the company sustained injury, loss of life, and a much longer than expected war. Roey, the company commander, talks about leading the company and then passing on the baton when he was injured in battle. And Elad shares with us how he motivated the soldiers and how he stepped up after Roey’s injury. I hope you enjoy listening to these two incredible Jewish heroes. This is their story.

Episode 3: Yom HiZikaron 2024 In Memory of Our Heroes

This episode is in honor of our fallen as we commemorate Yom Hazikaron, the Israeli day to remember our heroes who fell in battle defending our country. This year I was invited to talk about my heroes, Yair Katz, Zechariah Pesach Haber, and Netzer Simchi, may their memory be a blessing. These three heroes fell while defending the Jewish people and the country of Israel in the aftermath of October 7th.
