Episode 7: The Only Thing That Slows Me Down

In this week of Go-Girl I am telling you where I have been. I am letting you know why I have been missing, and articulating the one thing that has the ability to slow me down in my go-girl era. It wasn’t the North Sea. It wasn’t the boat, or international travel with a cat. I cleared those hurdles and yes while the boat has come with some deep breaths, it has not required my whole capacity.  My Go Girl Era came to a screeching halt due to a small, blond haired three year old who required me to surrender my entire inner world in order to ensure he was alive by the end of the day. I have emerged from this summer older and wiser. Ready for the next adventure, but still recovering from the last one. Episode 6: Wanderlust

Check. Check. Check. Holy Mother. What have I done?

Today is just a check in. This is a quick episode to pause, catch my breath mid stride, and give you my current status. If I define adventures as capacity expanding experiences, this trip has been an adventure, and this podcast is being recorded at the moment of expansion. This is the moment where I am crossing a threshold from an old version of me into this new version. Folks, it is a bumpy ride, and I am grateful for the experience, and also wondering a little bit what it was that I was thinking. I have been so focused on how to get here with a cat, I have only just begun to realize what it is I have signed up for. The first little niggles of doubt are sinking in. Am I really going to renovate a boat? Will I be able to navigate tides and currents let alone the north sea? Episode 5: How to Adventure Cat

Episode 4: I bought a boat

It took 3 sisters, two weeks, and one wild goose chase, but it happened. I am now the very proud owner of a little 1988 Itchen Ferry–a 25 foot project boat intended to be my home. I know so little about boats, nevertheless, I feel very confident that I can get this up and running into a liveaboard vessel in the matter of 6 weeks.  But what have I bought? In this episode I will tell you everything I know about this little vessel–every scrap of information I have scavenged from online databases, message boards, and niche websites.
