Good and Game
Liz Garst comes from a family of farming pioneers andconservationist. Most notably her grandfather, Roswell, developed the hybrid corn seed in 1930 which revolutionized global corn farming. But there’s much more to the Garst story and it’s still being written. After earning degrees from Stanford, Michigan State and Harvard Liz joined the Peace Corp and laterworked at World Bank before returning to Iowa to manage the family farm. In our latest conversation focused on how the environmentimpacts the health of Iowans, Liz helps us understand the history and evolution of farming in Iowa and what we need to do for its future.
