Beskrivelse

A message based on John 17:1-11: After Jesus had spoken these words to his disciples, he looked up to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son so that the Son may glorify you, since you have given him authority over all people, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him.  And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.  I glorified you on earth by finishing the work that you gave me to do.  So now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had in your presence before the world existed. “I have made your name known to those whom you gave me from the world.  They were yours, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word.  Now they know that everything you have given me is from you, for the words that you gave to me I have given to them, and they have received them and know in truth that I came from you, and they have believed that you sent me.  I am asking on their behalf; I am not asking on behalf of the world but on behalf of those whom you gave me, because they are yours.  All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I have been glorified in them.  And now I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you.  Holy Father, protect them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one, as we are one.”

Steadfast Love: Living into the Goodness and Love in Which God Created Us

A message based on Matthew 9:9-13, 18-26:  As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax-collection station, and he said to him, “Follow me.”  And Matthew got up and followed Jesus. And as Jesus sat at dinner in the house, many tax collectors and sinners came and were sitting with Jesus and his disciples.  When the Pharisees saw this, they said to Jesus’s disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”  But when Jesus heard this, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.”  Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’  For I have not come to call the righteous but sinners.”While Jesus was saying these things to them, suddenly a leader came in and knelt before him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.”  And Jesus got up and followed him, with his disciples.  Then suddenly a woman who had been suffering from a flow of blood for twelve years came up behind Jesus and touched the fringe of his cloak, for she was saying to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be made well.”  Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, “Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.”  And the woman was made well from that moment.  When Jesus came to the leader’s house and saw the flute players and the crowd making a commotion, he said, “Go away, for the girl is not dead but sleeping.”  And they laughed at him.  But when the crowd had been put outside, Jesus went in and took her by the hand, and the girl got up.  And the report of this spread through all of that district.

Jesus Loves You: He Really, Really Does!

John 14:15-21:  Jesus said to the disciples:  “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.  And I will ask the Father, and the Father will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever.  This is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees the Spirit nor knows the Spirit. You know the Spirit because the Spirit abides with you, and the Spirit will be in you. “I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you.  In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me; because I live, you also will live.  On that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.  They who have my commandments and keep them are those who love me, and those who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and reveal myself to them.”
