episode God Sees A King cover

Description

The sermon contrasts human reliance on external appearances with God's focus on the inner heart, using the anointing of David as a primary example. It argues that people often seek salvation in political leaders, physical beauty, or worldly power, yet these are insufficient and ultimately disappointing. The preacher identifies Jesus as the true King who, though outwardly unimpressive, possesses the perfect character God desires. Believers are called to trust in Christ alone for salvation and to be filled with the Holy Spirit, which transforms their hearts and empowers them to bring healing to a broken world. Ultimately, the message encourages humility and faith, urging listeners to become a people after God's own heart rather than chasing worldly validation.

Powers Combined - Officer Ordination

This sermon addresses the ordination and installation of new elders and deacons at Grace & Peace PCA, grounding the event in the biblical precedent of Acts 6. The preacher emphasizes that church leadership is a spiritual calling rather than a position of status, requiring both teaching and mercy ministries to function effectively together. Using analogies of combined powers and fruit-bearing trees, the message highlights how distinct roles unite to spread the Gospel and care for the community. The service includes vows, prayer, and an exhortation to serve with humility and courage despite potential suffering. Ultimately, the gathering celebrates the church's collective mission to shepherd the flock and demonstrate Christ's love through unified service.

Wise Marriages

This week we will conclude our study of wise relationships by studying what the proverbs teach concerning marriage. Marriage relationships provide a fundamental pathway for wise relationships in all of life. They can lead us to wisdom more priceless than gold, silver, and ultimately, into eternal life. Conversely, foolish marriages lead us down the path of folly, deeper and deeper into sin and misery. By seeking to maintain the oneness of our covenant of marriage as we embark on our spiritual journey, we lead ourselves deeper and deeper into the wisdom of God, the life of God, and the love of the Father, Son and Spirit. This sermon will touch on issues related to sexual intimacy. Words such as sex and pornography may be used. Due to the sensitive nature of these topics, we will expand our children's class during the sermon to include older children. If you wish for your child to attend that class, then simply release them at the appropriate time.

Wise Care, Common Ground

This sermon, rooted in Proverbs 22:1–9, calls believers to a gospel-centered, wise care for the vulnerable by emphasizing that every person bears God's image and thus deserves dignity, regardless of circumstance. It underscores that God takes personal offense at the mistreatment of the poor, widows, orphans, and strangers, framing such care not as mere social ethics but as a vital expression of faith, rooted in Christ's example and the reality of His identification with the marginalized. Drawing from Jesus' parables, teachings, and personal ministry—especially His identification with the least of these—the sermon argues that acts of compassion, however small, carry eternal significance and reflect the transformative power of the gospel. It challenges listeners to prioritize time and sacrificial generosity over material resources, recognizing that while no one can fix another's brokenness, Christ can, and believers are called to point others to Him. Ultimately, the sermon calls for a humble, Christ-shaped discipleship that sees the vulnerable as opportunities to reflect God's love, knowing that in serving them, we serve Christ Himself.

episode Wise Dating artwork

Wise Dating

This sermon presents a biblically grounded framework for wise dating, rooted in Proverbs 3:5–8 and the principle of trusting God's wisdom over personal understanding. It reframes dating not as a pursuit of romance, but as a process of building a Christian friendship to evaluate long-term compatibility in social, theological, vocational, and physical dimensions, all within the context of a shared spiritual journey toward God's glory. The preacher emphasizes that wise dating requires intentional practices—prayer, clear communication, sexual purity, grace, community involvement, and patience—while warning against relying on worldly influences or emotional impulses. Ultimately, the sermon redirects focus from the outcome of marriage to the enduring truth of God's unrelenting love, which provides security and purpose regardless of whether a relationship leads to marriage or singleness, affirming that true fulfillment is found in trusting Christ's redemptive love above all else. www.gptulsa.com
