Hacks From the Past
We've all heard some version of the Mayflower voyage, its peculiar passengers, and the life they started in America—this episode presents a detailed history of the pilgrims as described by William Bradford, governor of Plymouth Colony. Viewing the events through the eyes of the pilgrims, I take a hard look at the mindsets and tools that allowed them to withstand religious persecution in England, harsh living conditions in Holland, and a brutal first year in America. Research for this episode came from several books, including Bradford's own 'Of Plimoth Plantation' and 'Mayflower' by Nathaniel Philbrick.
