How did Jesus not inherit sin if Mary wasn't sinless?

We know Joseph didn't conceive Jesus. One of these reasons is because if he did, Jesus would have inherited Joseph's sin nature. However, Mary was a sinner. Why didn't Jesus inherit her sin?

Is "forgive and forget" biblical?
