OK - today’s guest is my very good friend and my pastor Ben Windle. I’ve known Ben for man, it must be 15 or 16 years now. We’ve worked at 2 different churches together, and while I’m not a full-time church staffer anymore, I still count myself lucky he’s my pastor. We’ve been in life group together, an over-seas missions trip to Haiti, and through countless church programs and events together. He’s been known to give himself home-school high-fives, find the best deals on eBay, and fix just about anything. In this episode we’ll talk about some of the biggest areas he sees men struggling today, how he deals with stress, and you’ll hear the story of how he had to ask for his wife’s dad’s permission to marry his daughter. Today’s guest is my good friend Herald Adlet. I’ve started this podcast with some of my OGs, so, like my first guest, we go back all the way to my Junior year of high school when we met at church, and were in Youth Group together. Herald and I were also in each others’ weddings, and for a time were even neighbors in a condo complex, those were the days! Something I admire about Herald, is that he’s one of those guys who, when he says he’s in, he’s 100% in. He doesn’t hold back, and it seems like he’s passionate about everything. I also admire how he shows up for his kids. Which is something you’re going to hear more about. In this episode we talk about things he feels like he’s doing right in terms of leading himself, his marriage and his kids. And then also some things he’s learned from in the past and what he’s doing now. We also talk about raising teenage boys, challenges we’re all facing, what he’d tell himself 15 years ago knowing what he knows now. I really enjoyed our talk. We’ve been in each other’s weddings, and watched from afar as our jobs and careers have moved us to different states at time. You know that friend that you can call anytime, even when you have’t seen or even talked to each other in forever, and you get on the phone and you just pick right back up where you left off? That’s Dan. He’s a special guy and I’m proud to call him friend and I’m excited to introduce him to you. In this episode we talk about being or feeling insecure and how that translates to our kids, things he feels like he’s doing right today in the areas of manhood, fatherhood & marriage, and things he’s had to learn from in the same areas.
