Irish History Walks
The Vartry lakes are a wonderful place to take a walk, they also provide South Dublin and North Wicklow with fresh clean drinking water every day! In this episode I'm going to talk about the cholera and typhus epidemics in Ireland in the 1800's and why the Vartry reservoirs were vital to battling both diseases. I'll also talk about the lakes construction and of course some of the cool wildlife I saw on my journey around the lakes, what a great day out I had! ---------------------------------------- Hosted on Acast.
