episode Healing through self love and laughter artwork

Healing through self love and laughter

We had the best conversation with Beverly Akhurst, who is a yoga teacher, educator, guide, body whisper and so much more. Beverly has gone through her own health crisis, as well as gone through cancer journeys with both of her parents. We talked about the beauty we can find in disease, and how spreading love and loving ourselves can engage healing. How touch, purpose, laughter, even crying can literally change our cells. Beverly is a true light, and left us feeling at times speechless because of how inspiring her words were. She shares tools to learn how to love ourselves and live in existence with disease. We were beyond thankful for Beverly. To learn more about Beverly and to get a hold of her visit her website at: http://www.oceanbreathyoga.ca And visit our website at: https://www.kissedbycancer.com

Hope for the Hopeless with Jamie Blanco

We were lucky enough to sit down with Jamie, daughter of Jimmy Blanco was one of the longest living survivors of the world’s deadliest brain cancer. Jimmy he defied the odds without traditional medicine. In 1995, he was diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforme grade IV and given less than four months to live. Given no hope of survival, Jimmy rejected chemotherapy and radiation and the doctor's death sentence for him. He self-treated with natural medicine, radically altered his diet, practiced visualization and other mental focus techniques, and had a healthy faith in God. He fought EIGHT incredible years against the same tumor that claimed the lives of John McCain, Beau Biden, and Ted Kennedy – a disease that today kills most of its victims in under 15 months. Many doctors have called Jimmy’s story a miracle. He began writing a book about his journey but sadly did not finish it.  Jamie, an award winning journalist, found the book and knew what she had to do—complete her father’s work. She has investigated the biggest factors that contributed to her father’s miraculous remission and done a deep dive into the latest brain cancer research, both the great and the lacking. Jamie has also pulled in fascinating and inspiring interviews with naturopathic oncologists, health coaches, motivational speakers and international best-selling author and spiritualist Lorna Byrne.
