Pitchforks and Effigies

Coach Eddie starts with an update from Episode 2, telling us about how a principal in Inglewood continued the work on Learning Walks and even moved the work forward with success and clarity. Episode 3 focuses on every leader’s worst nightmare… Standing in front of a staff that is RESISTANT and NOT happy to hear what you have to say. Coach Eddie reflects on some of these days from his coaching and principal experience, digging deep into why this happens. Then we learn some practical tricks and strategies for turning the tide and moving forward, while still being clear with the message: “We are here to get better and evolve. Can we commit to being better today than we were yesterday?” Coach Eddie emphasizes the importance of standing your ground and getting clear about what we are here to do. Episode 2 takes us to South Central Los Angeles where two high schools that have long been cross town rivals were just recently merged into one school The principal is looking for a way to build unity among his staff, and find a way to bring them together.
