Elijah then models persistent prayer, bowing before God and continuing to pray for rain even when there is no immediate sign of an answer. Finally, God's promise is perceived when a small cloud appears on the horizon, growing into a mighty rainstorm that ends the drought. Through this passage, we see that God's power brings restoration, persistent faith is rewarded, and God's promises always come to pass in His perfect timing.
