Karen has a Bachelor's of Social Work from the University of Wyoming and a Master of Social Work from West Virginia University. She engaged in School Social Work, and then provided Clinical Therapeutic Mental Health. She is certified in techniques that treat Post-traumatic Stress Disorder and Chemical Dependency. She is retired but provides mental health related services in a voluntary setting. She is also a volunteer at Community Kitchen in Loveland.
