Description

Christ Our Victor Series: 1 Peter Preacher: Jared Blankenship Date: 29th March 2026 Passage: 1 Peter 3:18-22 [https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Peter+3%3A18-22&version=ESV] ------------------- Having just told the suffering Christians in Asia Minor that an eternal inheritance awaits them beyond this time of exile and that they must persevere in following Jesus despite persecution, he now anchors that exhortation firmly in the good news of Jesus' death, resurrection, and exaltation. Peter's train of thought is quite clear: Jesus suffered, Jesus rose, and Jesus reigns. This is the essence of the Christian's hope, which they are to always be prepared to display and defend. Jesus has satisfied God's wrath against sinners, triumphed over death itself, and has authority to deal decisively with all our enemies, human or demonic. Therefore, as we suffer for righteousness' sake, we keep our eyes fixed firmly on Christ our Victor.

Blessed To Be His

Blessed To Be His Series: Psalms Preacher: Jared Blankenship Date: 28th June 2026 Passage: Psalm 33:1-22 [https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+33%3A1-22&version=ESV] ------------------- The context of Psalm 33 is not all rainbows and roses. At various places we find the people in particular need, even deliverance from death. The blessed people are in a season of waiting on the Lord, hoping and trusting in Him for help. This song of joyful worship then transcends our circumstances. Its truths are relevant in seasons of plenty and seasons of famine. The blessed state of God's people remains when life is easy and when it's hard. Herein lies the purpose of the psalm. It equips us to joyfully worship the Lord at all times, for we are truly blessed to be His people.
