episode 11 Megan Flanagan of Strong Runner Chicks artwork
11 Megan Flanagan of Strong Runner Chicks

Megan Flanagan is an avid Spartan and trail runner, personal trainer and founder of Strong Runner Chicks, an online community created to educate, empower and connect female runners, proving that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to being a runner. She ran NCAA cross country and track at the University of Minnesota, where she competed in the steeplechase and distance events. She recently completed her Master's in Public Health at Utah State University and has moved to Portland to enter the employee wellness field. When not running, working or studying, Megan enjoys rock climbing, reading non-fiction, and cooking up new recipes. She strives to inspire others to discover their true purpose, embrace their strength, inside and out.   Just a quick note on this episode, Megan and Alexis recorded this in the spring of 2019, so some of what you’ll hear us chat about is a little outdated, specifically our talk about the Boston marathon which we were both training for at the time. As an update on that, Megan and I were able to meet up before the race and ride to the start line together. We then started the race together and although we split up, we ended up crossing the finish line within 30 seconds of one another and meeting back up in the finishing shoot!    http://www.strongrunnerchicks.com/ or on Strong Runner Chicks on https://www.facebook.com/strongrunnerchicks , https://www.instagram.com/strongrunchicks/ , and https://twitter.com/strongrunchicks .   Follow Megan on https://www.instagram.com/meginspire/   If you're new to Lane 9, find out more at ../../../content/lane9project.com , and follow along on Twitter and Instagram ../../../content/instagram.com/lane9project .
