Description

Send us a text [https://www.buzzsprout.com/twilio/text_messages/1916060/open_sms] I talked to a student last year who believes the only way God communicates with believers is through the Bible. And while I agree that God DOES communicate with us through His Word, He also gives us His Holy Spirit so we can be in constant communion with Him, even beyond reading our Bible. On this point, however, she and I did not agree. Here are my takeaways from that conversation! Check out the Life at Peace Podcast channel! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2WTUbi4LWVYcwB0mlqbeWA

The Beauty and Pain of Work

Send us a text [https://www.buzzsprout.com/twilio/text_messages/1916060/open_sms] "There's no such thing as a happy career. To work is to lose in life." - Principal Ava Coleman of Abbott Elementary Once upon a time, I felt similarly about work. I even thought it was punishment that we are subject to until we die. But in recent years, my perspective has been transformed. The institution of work originated with God. When we work with integrity, faithfulness, and hearts eager to please God, we are worshipping Him! And we are fulfilling His command to "fill the earth and subdue it" while being good stewards of His creation. Yet, as believers, we also wrestle with the fact that there are many frustrations in our work (overzealous bosses, office politics, gossip, bureaucratic hurdles) that can thwart our attempts to serve God.  Tune in as I discuss the beauty and pain of this thing called work!
