In this season finale episode of Living Well, Mark speaks with three titans of health news in Canada. Avis Favaro was the longest serving national medical correspondent in history, for CTV National News. Dr. Brian Goldman is the host of White Coat Black Art on CBC, and Andre Picard is a long time health columnist for the Globe and Mail. They discuss what's happening in health news now, they share thoughts on how some of the issues from previous episodes have evolved, and they forecast health stories to come.

Mark has an in-depth conversation with Dr. Sonu Gaind and Dr. Harvey Schipper about the concerns that mental health advocates have with Canada's new medical assistance in dying regime for people solely experiencing a mental illness. They discuss the unique difficulties with defining and treating mental illnesses, the impossibility of predicting irremediability, and the ethical implications of ending the lives of people who governments are failing to help live and thrive. Watch for the extended conversation with Dr. Schipper, to be posted next week!

Mark talks with Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar, an organizational psychologist, internationally recognized teacher, and a prolific author. Dr. Ben-Shahar's books on positive psychology, happiness, and leadership have been translated into more than 30 languages, and have appeared on best-seller lists around the world, including the New York Times. He has also taught two of the most popular courses in the history of Harvard University, on Positive Psychology and The Psychology of Leadership. He joins Mark to talk about the reputation of positive psychology, dispelling myths, and solving for happiness.

Mark talks with Dr. Melissa Lem, a Vancouver family physician and Founder and Director of PaRx, Canada's national nature prescription program powered by the BC Parks Foundation.

In this Pride Month special episode, Mark Henick hands the mic over to Olympic gold medallist and "Canada's first gay Olympian," Mark Tewksbury. Tewksbury has a conversation with Soccer and LGBTQ champion Quinn. Quinn captured gold with Canada at Tokyo 2020, making history as the first openly transgender, non-binary person to win an Olympic medal. They had an incredible, moving conversation about their respective journeys, how far we've come, how far there is to go, and how we can all be allies.
