Feral Citizen is a short run series of conversations with western great lakes, regional ecologists, scientists, makers and activists who center Land in their interdisciplinary practice. Conversations are curated by Nance Klehm, chief ecologist and director of Social Ecologies. For our fifth episode, we have urban ecologist, scientist, educator, & adviser ––Alison E. Anastasio, Ph.D. Alison E. Anastasio, Ph.D., is an urban ecologist. As a scientist, educator, and adviser broadly trained in ecology and evolutionary biology, her research and pedagogical interests include the Calumet region, novel ecosystems, spontaneous urban vegetation, the benefits of urban greenspace, plant diversity and local adaptation, environmental justice, and Indigenous land management practices and traditions.
