Description

Here is something I know about each and every one of you = you have hope. You are have arrived here at the college of alameda – with hope. Hope for your future, hope for your family, hope for a fulfilling life, a hope for success. If you didn’t have hope, you wouldn’t be here. EOPS is here to stand with you in your hope. To help you nurture your hope and to turn it into action. And sometimes, when things don’t go according to plan, when things get hard, when you may be thinking about giving up, EOPS is here to help you find your hope again.   Sometimes it helps to keep inspiration close, so I will read to you this poem by The  Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles by Marianne Williamson in the book   A Return to Love   "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
