Description

Sarva is such a beautiful, gentle soul, and I was so honoured to chat with her in this episode! She shares with us how she has been drawn to working with children and families since a young age, which eventually led to her creating a beautiful postpartum Ayurvedic Doula training program. Sarva truly invokes beauty and sacredness in all that she does, and shares her passion and knowledge with others in caring for new mamas during the sacred window of postpartum. She shared some of the difficult journey she's been on with her third baby, who is turning two soon, and that no matter how many children you have, each birth is an initiation, and an opportunity for growth and expansion. Sarva also shared some of her beautiful self-care practises with us, and the way she is able to incorporate her children into these practices, not only sharing a piece of herself but also instilling the importance of beauty, sacredness, and self-love to her children. I hope you enjoy listening to this conversation as much as I enjoyed having it! You can find Sarva on Instagram @sarva.rosewater or check out her website: www.innersunandmoon.com

episode Claire Smith artwork

Claire Smith

Claire and I met in a prenatal yoga teacher training program over 5 years ago and it was so nice to reconnect and chat about motherhood! Claire shared about her C-section with her first baby, about others bonding with her baby before she had the chance, how important it is to research and ask questions during your pregnancy so that you can advocate for yourself during your birth, and how much of a business birth is for the medical system. We talked a lot about supporting your children and honouring who they are. Claire's oldest child is transgender and she gave us a little glimpse into that experience, the support they've received, and the challenges of navigating the daily 'small stuff' most of us take for granted. How important it is to just listen to your kids and not try to fix anything for them. Find Claire on IG @yogatruly

Erin Kiers

Erin had so much wisdom and truth bombs to share with us all! A mom to 2 bio kids and 2 step kids, Erin shared parts of her journey from being in difficult relationships, to being a single mom, then finding her person and blending their families together. She talked about having severe pre-eclampsia with her first born who then spent 5 weeks in the NICU and how unsettling it is to be home without your baby. Her difficulties with breastfeeding. The lack of maternity leave when you're self employed. She continually stressed the importance of being as consciously present as possible with your children and the effects that has. Erin also shared the story of her eldest's wedding and the beautiful interweaving of all parental figures in her life. I was a bit under the weather for our chat (you'll only hear me quietly in the background) so I let Erin take the lead and she did not disappoint!! Thank you Erin for your strength and beauty and wisdom and for keeping it real. Find Erin on IG @hybridhairanddetoxspa or www.hybridhairanddetoxspa.com
