In 1 Samuel 18 & 19, we see Saul’s jealousy of David reveal how insecurity and self-focus can distort our view of God’s purposes and lead us toward self-destruction. In contrast, David responds with humility, faithfulness, and trust in God’s timing, reminding us that true victory comes through surrender to God rather than self-promotion. Ultimately, the passage points us to Christ, who humbled Himself and was exalted, calling us to live lives shaped by repentance, discipleship, and trust in God’s redemptive plan.
