Mums Mysteries & Murder
Podcast de Marti & Effie
We're two Mums living in Edinburgh who are obsessed with true crime and mysterious happenings, so obsessed we decided to start a podcast! Each month we take turns to tell stories from our homelands - Effie Scottish born and bred where haggis is NOT actually an animal and Marti from the land down under where no prawns have ever been thrown on a barbie, it needs to be said! So, if you want polished, professional true crime then this is not for you, maybe try Casefile. But if you love true crime and mystery like us & you can't stop talking about it, give us a listen! Its not big or clever but it is entertaining.

For our final episode of 2024 and our 50th episode!!!! We're bringing you an intriguing mystery from Australia which is all about shared psychosis so this episode might not be for everyone, if you don't feel in a place to listen to this episode right now please give this one a miss. On Monday 29 August 2016 Mark Tromp and his wife Jacoba got into a car for a “tech-free road trip” with their three adult children Riana, 29, Mitchell, 25, and Ella 22. They headed north in Ella's car only to turn up one by one a week later having travelled more than (995 miles) and ended with a police investigation and two of the family members in psychiatric care. One investigating police officer from the Silvan district described it as "the most bizarre case I've seen in 30 years". We also talk about Christmas, ( a lot ) Santa warning for this episode, though if you have anyone young enough to believe in the magic of Christmas, they probably shouldn't be listening to this podcast! For our November episode, Effie is covering a Scottish mystery, something we've never touched on before but glossed over. UFO's!! Bonniebridge is a little town, it's a small town, that just looks like your average British town about 4 miles west of Falkirk in central Scotland but its harbouring a very strange secret.... It has had the largest number of UFO sightings in the world! Just sit back and take that in! So much so that since 1992 there have been 300 incidents reported every single year! 36% of locals have seen something unusual in this area known as the Falkirk triangle..... We also talk about the usual stuff - Halloween, our thoughts on the Menendez brothers, what we've been watching of course, how we're too lazy to see the northern lights, Effie's end of the world experience and how long ago the 90s were...
