The "Career Girls Murders" was the name given by the American media to the murders of Emily Hoffert and Janice Wylie, which occurred inside their apartment on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York City, on August 28, 1963.[1] George Whitmore Jr. was charged with this and other crimes, but he was later cleared.

He was the founder and the original host of the paranormal [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paranormal]-themed radio program Coast to Coast AM [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coast_to_Coast_AM], which is syndicated [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadcast_syndication#Radio_syndication] on hundreds of radio stations in the United States and Canada.  He also created and hosted its companion show Dreamland. Coast to Coast still airs nightly, now hosted weeknights by George Noory [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Noory]. Bell's past shows from 1994 to 2002 are repeated on Premiere Networks [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premiere_Networks] on Saturday evenings. They are retitled Somewhere in Time with Art Bell.
