The conversation continues with Thom Hazaert, acclaimed musician, author and writer as we explore the state and stigma of mental health in the metal community. Breaking the stigma of talking about our own mental health in the rock and roll scene still remains a challenge. While Thom and Larry differ from the view of their own personal experiences, they each agree that although 'spending time with a broken man' takes effort, it's worth it if it means one less brother or sister is lost to suicide. Metalheads and mental health are a topic held close to our battle vests and we explore ways to keep each other supported and ready to mosh. Order your copy of Thom and David Ellefson's book, 'More Life with Deth' and check out an upcoming bonus episode where Mary reads a few lines in the hopes of landing the book-on-tape deal. Check out the previous episode when Thom shares more about Taproot's new record, SC\SSRS. They plan to do the Festival circuit this year, be sure to follow their socials to find a show in your city. Get your official Taproot merch here.Check out Volatale Skateboards for the only place to find licensed rock n roll and metal band decks.

Welcome Back with Thom Hazaert

Join us in the Electric Fishbowl for the first episode of 2024 with our guest Thom Hazaert, acclaimed musician, author/writer, and music executive. He was co-founder and president of Corporate Punishment Records and currently runs THC: MUSIC, a management firm and label. With David Ellefson, he relaunched legendary metal label Combat Records, as part of EMP Label Group.[1][2][3] Hazaert's work was also influential in the early advent of lifestyle street and viral marketing among rock acts,[4] as an independent consultant for record labels including Flip Records, Interscope Records, Warner Bros. Records, Hollywood Records, Jive Records, and as co-founder of Total Assault Street Teams. Coupled with Thom's big personality and opinions we talk all things rock and metal, then and now including Dave Mustaine's controversial comment about ticket prices. We reflect a bit on FishFest Iv in 2023 and look on to overcoming the stigma of mental health challenges in the music industry. We introduce two new band on the Nashville metal scene - Glasswalker, Weapon of Choice and Dead Runes Iron Song.
