Neighbourhood Church Teaching Podcast
Why is it that we can easily spot greed in others, yet remain almost entirely blind to its presence in our own hearts? In this week’s message, Lesley Nunes takes us into Luke 19:1–10 to explore the dramatic transformation of Zacchaeus. Looking at how money functions in our lives, Lesley highlights what Tim Keller famously described as "money sickness"—a subtle spiritual blindness that uses wealth to secure our significance and safety, ultimately trapping us in deep anxiety. Rather than leaving us stuck in this cycle, the passage reveals the ultimate cure. We see how an encounter with the radical grace of Jesus completely breaks the power of greed, freeing us to live a life of open-handed generosity.
