episode Rescued from the forces of evil | Daniel Leeves cover

Description

Why is our modern culture so deeply fascinated by the supernatural, yet so quick to dismiss the actual reality of spiritual darkness? In this week's message, Daniel Leeves takes us into Mark 5:1–20 to confront the unseen battles happening right beneath the surface of our everyday lives. By looking at what happened then, what it looks like now, and how we are called to respond, we explore how to navigate a world that is spiritually blind yet strangely hungry. Ultimately, we discover that facing the reality of spiritual warfare isn't about fear, but about leaning into the absolute authority of Jesus and moving toward broken people with radical compassion. Rescued from being lost | Daniel Leeves

What does it actually mean to be lost? How does God welcome those who come back? In this week's message, Dan takes us into Luke 15 to explore one of the most famous stories Jesus ever told: the Parable of the Lost Son. Rather than just viewing it as a familiar story, Dan unpacks what the text reveals about human nature, the depth of our brokenness, and the nature of God’s heart toward us. But we don't just end when the runaway returns. The passage leaves us with an open-ended tensions and questions that forces us to look in the mirror and also ask: what happens next? episode Rescued from Greed | Lesley Nunes artwork

Rescued from Greed | Lesley Nunes

Why is it that we can easily spot greed in others, yet remain almost entirely blind to its presence in our own hearts? In this week’s message, Lesley Nunes takes us into Luke 19:1–10 to explore the dramatic transformation of Zacchaeus. Looking at how money functions in our lives, Lesley highlights what Tim Keller famously described as "money sickness"—a subtle spiritual blindness that uses wealth to secure our significance and safety, ultimately trapping us in deep anxiety. Rather than leaving us stuck in this cycle, the passage reveals the ultimate cure. We see how an encounter with the radical grace of Jesus completely breaks the power of greed, freeing us to live a life of open-handed generosity. episode Rescued from Death | Daniel Leeves artwork

Rescued from Death | Daniel Leeves

When someone makes a massive, world-altering claim about who they are, our natural reaction is simple: "Show me." In this week's message, Dan digs into John 11:17–44 to look at one of the most staggering statements in history - Jesus declaring, "I am the resurrection and the life." Dan breaks down what Jesus is actually claiming here, pulling back the layers of meaning that often get lost or hidden in our modern language and culture. Jesus doesn't just leave this as a profound theory; he backs it up by calling Lazarus out of a tomb, presenting a truth that ultimately leaves us with one unavoidable question: Do you believe this? We explore how this definitive moment demanded a response then, and how Jesus is still answering that "show me" question today, offering that same resurrection life to us right now. episode Rescued from hard-heartedness and half-heartedness | Daniel Leeves and Simon Lang artwork

Rescued from hard-heartedness and half-heartedness | Daniel Leeves and Simon Lang

What happens when we become desensitized to the 'message of the Kingdom', or when our focus get quietly divided by everything else competing for our attention? In this week’s teaching, we have two mini-talks looking at the parable of the sower. First, Dan explores the hard ground of the path, shifting the focus away from a one-time salvation moment to our daily heart posture toward the message of the Kingdom. Drawing a parallel to the Exodus, he challenges the reality that we can easily be rescued from our past captivity, yet still miss out on being saved into the daily life God has for us. Then, Simon unpacks the thorny ground, focusing on what it means to be half-hearted. He shows that this isn't necessarily about laziness or apathy, but about a divided focus - looking at how the worries and distractions of life can slowly crowd out and choke our faith and spiritual growth. episode Rescued from Condemnation | Simon Lang artwork

Rescued from Condemnation | Simon Lang

What happens when our hidden brokenness is brought out into the open before a holy God? In this week's message, Simon Lang draws from John 8:2-11 to uncover the depth of Jesus’ response to the woman caught in adultery. Simon unpacks the text to show how Jesus simultaneously dismantles religious hypocrisy and lifts the crushing weight of condemnation from our shoulders. Rather than leaving us where we are, this passage reveals a beautiful tension: Jesus extends absolute grace, while explicitly calling us into a new life of active transformation. We look at what it practically means to cooperate with His grace, daily laying down our sin - not through striving, but in response to the one who saved us.
