Neil Meekin - The Pool of Life Podcast Episode #9 - Dr Jens Thomas - A Road Less Travelled

Welcome to the Pool of Life Podcast Episode #9 with Dr Jens Thomas. Co-founder of Liverpool based social-enterpise Farm Urban, with Dr Paul Myers who I interviewed in Episode #6. As always the interview was conducted in nature as we walked through the stunning Dibbinsdale Woods on the Wirral in Merseyside. I was introduced to this special place by my cousin and so if you're on Merseyside do go and check it out.    What can I say..this was a powerful and deep conversation (as I anticipated). In the first part of the podcast its always appreciated to explore the early years and the life trajectory and experiences that shape a person. It's wide-ranging conversation about his life,  from sailing to Australia and living in remote Argentina, to quantum chemistry, music, and the origins of Farm Urban. As with the my own inner work and the Pool of Life, Jens also has shares his own inner work as we explore spiritual practices like the Diamond Approach, the importance of trust, grief, kindness, and gratitude. Its also about how new ways of living and working can emerge in tune with nature as an antidote to the extractive and destructive modern systems that we live in.  Jens is definitely someone who embodies #beingthechange - Enjoy

Neil Meekin - The Pool of Life Podcast Episode #5 - Jim Loftus - Nature Connection

Welcome to Episode #5 of the Pool of Life Podcast. I had the honour and privilege of interviewing Forest School Leader & Trainer Jim Loftus of Grow Wellbeing in woodland on the mystical Bidston Hill on the Wirral Peninsula. It was a powerful experience to be in conversation and dialogue under a tarpaulin and the pouring rain, surrounded by trees, and immersed in Autumn energy. Its the intention that all future interviews where possible will be conducted in a natural environment. There is something around the coherence and the holding that it enables for a connection and conversation to go to a deeper level somehow. This was a beautiful far reaching conversation of honesty and depth. Some of the topics and themes discussed - *How the education system doesn't serve all learners and the impacts. *How being immersed in nature helps regulate the nervous system. *The power of nature based education through Forest School appraches. *How challenging circumstances in life such as illness and chronic stress can catalyse radical change in life. *The importance of acknowledging ancestors and ancestral lands and how they continue to shape us. *The importance of 'Irishness' and how embedded it is in Liverpool and the wider Merseyside region. *How a £20 hammock can transform your life. *Climate change and its impacts *A Slavic witchcraft practice for cultivating BEING. ...and much more. Join us under the tarpualin and the pouring rain amongst the Tress and the Autumn leaves.
