LIVE w/ Codington Connects - Board President. Sara Foust & South Dakota Department of Health Codi Storm - www.codingtonconnects.com [https://www.codingtonconnects.com] - 7/1/26 Huge News for Watertown: The BPI Building Donation! 🏢✨ We had an incredibly exciting broadcast today on Northeast Radio SD with Sara Foust and Codi Storm, who shared a massive announcement that will fundamentally change how community services are delivered in Codington County! Here is a breakdown of the historic news and what it means for our community: 🏗️ A Game-Changing Donation Lishuel is generously donating the BPI building to Codington Connects! This massive facility boasts over 30,000 square feet of space. Because half of the building is currently unfinished, the team has a blank canvas with incredible opportunities for future expansion and renovation. Owning this building outright provides Codington Connects with the equity needed to secure financing for future renovations and upgrades. 🤝 The Vision: A Community "One-Stop Shop" The primary goal of this project is to create a centralized, shared location where residents can access multiple social services under one single roof. Currently, community members face major barriers—such as taking extra time off work or spending limited gas money—just to travel between scattered agencies. Even when agencies were previously located just a block and a half apart, the distance still created a hindrance for clients who lacked reliable transportation. This new centralized space will eliminate the stress of having to go "door to door" around town to get basic needs met. 🏢 The Founding Four Partners The new facility will initially house four key organizations, with hopes to bring in more community partners down the road: Codington County Community Services The Department of Health (Public Health) The WIC Office Brothers and Sisters Behind Bars 🩺 Spotlight on Public Health Codi Storm shared some fantastic insights into her vital role within our community: As the Public Health Nurse for Codington County, she serves the immediate local area as well as surrounding regions. Her team focuses heavily on childhood immunizations, school health screenings, and comprehensive pregnancy care. The pregnancy care program is open to everyone with absolutely no eligibility requirements! Whether it is a mother's first pregnancy or her seventh, and regardless of her income or insurance status, she is fully eligible to receive these services. 📅 What's Next for Codington Connects? The team is currently operating on an ambitious five-month plan to officially move into the finished portions of the building. In the meantime, they are heavily focused on a summer campaign designed to help local families build memories together. As part of this initiative, they are distributing a summer bingo card to encourage participation in free local activities, like concerts on campus and Downtown Watertown events. Get Involved: You can stay updated on the BPI building progress, as well as grab your summer bingo cards, by following Codington Connects on Facebook and checking out their brand new Instagram page!

Meet Watertown's Rising Real Estate Star: Carley Stewart! 🏡✨

Meet Watertown's Rising Real Estate Star: Carley Stewart! 🏡✨ We recently had an amazing time in the Northeast Radio SD studio chatting with Carley Stewart, a dynamic and driven realtor with Mainstream Realty right here in Watertown, South Dakota! Whether she's making funny videos on the roof of a mobile home or negotiating contracts, Carley is bringing a fresh, Gen Z perspective to the local housing market. Here is a look at what makes Carley's approach to real estate so unique: 🚀 Breaking the Traditional Mold * A Lifelong Passion: Carley grew up around new construction on both sides of her family, giving her a natural edge and understanding of the housing industry long before she got her license. * Unconventional Path: School wasn't her favorite place to be, so she boldly chose to graduate high school a full year early to dive straight into the workforce instead of taking the traditional college route! * Behind-the-Scenes Expertise: Before officially selling homes, she took the time to learn the backend of the business by working at a title company, mastering the ins and outs of contracts, indexing, and closings. 📱 A Fresh, Modern Approach to Buying & Selling * The Power of Social Media: Carley understands that buying a home is a huge, stressful life event. She uses engaging, humorous social media content to help her clients relax and feel at ease during the transaction. * Client First, Always: Working in real estate isn't a standard 9-to-5, and Carley prides herself on outworking the competition. She is fully committed to her clients and makes it clear that you can reach out to her anytime—even at 2:34 AM! * Advocating for Buyers: She wants everyone to know that as a buyer, you have the right to choose your own realtor to represent you, even if the house is listed by a completely different agency! 🌟 Big Goals & Community Focus Carley chose to hang her license at Mainstream Realty because of the genuine, caring environment fostered by her broker, Jody Fiedler. But her goals extend far beyond just selling houses: * Inspiring the Next Generation: She wants to be a role model for the younger generation in Watertown, proving that age doesn't define capability and that hard work pays off. * Upcoming Local Series: Keep an eye out in July for "A Closer Look"! Carley is partnering with a UT Austin film student on a six-part documentary and interview series highlighting local businesses around Watertown. * Personal Milestones: On a personal note, Carley is working hard to buy her very first home, travel more, and eventually get a farm cat and an Australian Mini Shepherd! 📞 Let's Connect! Looking to buy, sell, or just want to follow along on Carley's journey? * Follow her on Facebook & Instagram: Search for carley.sdrealestate * Have questions for the radio show?
