" 3908 Nyx " è un asteroide che appartiene alla categoria dei Near-Earth Objects scoperto nel 1980. Nyx è la dea primordiale della Notte, nata dal Caos e temuta persino da Zeus. È una figura potentissima e antichissima, che rappresenta l’oscurità e il mistero del cosmo. Ha generato molti figli da sola, tra cui Hypnos (sonno), Thanatos (morte) e i Oneiroi (sogni). Tra gli altri ci sono Oizys (miseria), Nemesi (vendetta) e le Moire (destino), simboli delle forze inevitabili della vita. Nyx, insieme ai suoi figli, soprattutto Oizys e Momos, rappresenta la parte di una stirpe legata alle forze oscure e inevitabili dell'universo. Oizys rappresenta il dolore profondo, la tristezza e il senso di vuoto tipici della depressione. Momos invece incarna la voce interiore critica, il giudizio e i pensieri negativi su sé stessi. Insieme descrivono il ciclo depressivo: soffrire dentro (Oizys) e amplificare quel dolore con l’autocritica (Momos). É un po' quello che ci succede quando viviamo momenti prolungati di tristezza profonda; dolore è reale, ma che spesso diventa più pesante quando la mente lo alimenta. Un’anima che non trova pace, che si critica, che perde fiducia nel futuro. Non è una colpa, ma una condizione da comprendere e governare con pazienza. Una condizione che si può contrastare ritrovando: una direzione interiore, uno scopo (anche piccolo), una disciplina quotidiana. Questo non è una soluzione, ma un modo per non sprofondare... Poi bisognerebbe non fuggire dalla propria mente: la solitudine non deve essere un nemico, ma un luogo da rendere abitabile. La “depressione” è un disordine dell’animo che unisce sofferenza reale e giudizi distorti; l'unica soluzione è cercare consapevolezza, misura e tempo.

She is an extremely powerful and ancient figure, representing the darkness and mystery of the cosmos. She gave birth to many children on her own, including Hypnos (sleep), Thanatos (death), and the Oneiroi (dreams). Among the others are Oizys (misery), Nemesis (vengeance), and the Moirai (fate), symbols of the inevitable forces of life. Nyx, together with her children—especially Oizys and Momus—represents a lineage connected to the dark and unavoidable forces of the universe. Oizys represents deep pain, sorrow, and the sense of emptiness typical of depression. Momus, on the other hand, embodies the critical inner voice, judgment, and negative thoughts about oneself. Together they describe the depressive cycle: suffering inwardly (Oizys) and amplifying that pain through self-criticism (Momus). This is somewhat what happens when we experience prolonged periods of deep sadness: the pain is real, but it often becomes heavier when the mind feeds it. It is a soul that finds no peace, that criticizes itself, and loses trust in the future. It is not a fault, but a condition to be understood and managed with patience. It is a condition that can be countered by rediscovering: an inner direction, a purpose (even a small one), and a daily discipline. This is not a complete solution, but a way to avoid sinking further... One should not flee from one’s own mind: solitude must not be an enemy, but a place to make livable. “Depression” is a disorder of the soul that combines real suffering with distorted judgments; the only path forward is to seek awareness, balance, and time.

"3671 Dionysus" è un piccolo asteroide “near-Earth” scoperto nel 1984, ha un'orbita che passa relativamente vicino a quella della Terra e per questo viene monitorato, anche se non c’è un rischio immediato di impatto. Dioniso è il dio greco del vino, dell’estasi e della trasformazione, nato più volte tra vita e morte e legato a rituali di liberazione. Dioniso rappresenta la frenesia emotiva e istintiva; che causa lo stress, il sovraccarico che trabocca, le emozioni non più contenibili. Allo stesso tempo offre uno sfogo catartico, liberando la tensione attraverso espressione e abbandono. È quindi sia causa del caos interiore, sia via per scioglierlo quando viene vissuto e integrato. Nella nostra quotidianità siamo dominati e travolti da impulsi e giudizi esterni che ci provocano una vita frenetica e ci inducono allo stress. Quindi un possibile approccio è slegarci da ciò che accade e concentrarci su come decidiamo di vivere... in particolare: rallentando e scegliendo con giudizio le priorità (senza rincorrere tutto freneticamente); scegliendo di rassegnarci all'imprevedibilità della vita, concentrandoci invece su un'attività meditativa (allenarsi alla tranquillità) che ci aiuti a prendere padronanza dei nostri pensieri.

A possible approach, therefore, is to detach ourselves from what happens and focus on how we choose to live... In particular: slowing down and carefully choosing priorities (rather than frantically chasing everything); accepting the unpredictability of life, and instead focusing on a meditative activity (training ourselves in calmness) that helps us gain mastery over our thoughts.

EP033_IT_Prometeo - sacrificarsi per altruismo

Prometeo è un piccolo satellite di Saturno. In mitologia Prometeo è un titano della mitologia greca che rubò il fuoco agli dèi per donarlo agli uomini, permettendo loro di progredire. Per questo gesto, sfidò Zeus e subì una dura punizione eterna. Rappresenta l’altruismo perché sacrifica se stesso per il bene dell’umanità, mettendo gli altri prima della propria sofferenza. Essere altruisti significa sentirsi in dovere di aiutare gli altri, perché tutti gli uomini fanno parte della stessa comunità universale. Il bene si fa senza aspettarsi ricompense, per dovere morale e per coerenza con la virtù. infatti l'altruismo è espressione diretta di un animo virtuoso e buono. Non è sacrificio cieco, ma un agire equilibrato, in cui il bene degli altri contribuisce anche alla propria realizzazione.
