With 9 studio records and a Mercury Music prize nomination under his belt, Ed has composed film scores, toured with the likes of REM, Wilco and Snow Patrol and performed with everyone from Patti Smith to Nick Cave. His musical resume is littered with co-writing credits that include the likes of Paloma Faith, James Bay, Lisa-Marie Presley, and Marianne Faithfull just to name a few. He’s also played some piano for Lana Del Rey and produced Sophie Ellis-Bextor among many others. And most importantly, Ed co-wrote two songs on my album including "I Can't Give You What You Want" and a personal favorite called "21," which is set to be released in December! We chatted about growing up with a father in the military, writing songs while acting as his aunt’s caretaker, abusing journalists, the benefits (and pitfalls) of signing to a major label plus how you need the drive and hunger to succeed in this business.
