Description

We've been meaning to cover the films coming out of Cannes, but haven't had time due to very busy weeks of new releases. This week is no exception, but we will drop three names of films we'll be discussing in more detail down the line when they get their eventual official U.S. release. As for this week's movies, we start out with notice about a special 4K theatrical screening of anime classic "Tekkonkinkreet"; A24's anticipated "The Backrooms" finally hits theaters; hallucinogenic indie "Lucid" in limited release; Bleeding Skull rediscovers lost "Carnival of Souls" cousin "House of Dreams." And a good number of Blu-ray debuts: queer oddity "Holy Trinity"; Radu Jude's unashamedly A.I.-enhanced "Dracula"; Jan Svankmajer's "Faust"; the super-weird "She Loved Blossoms More"; and dated cult classic "7 Faces of Dr. Lao." LINKS: Check GKids' website for a "Tekkonkinreet" screening near you: https://gkids.com/films/tekkonkinkreet/ ERRATA AND OMISSIONS:*Greg couldn't remember the big stars of Quentin Dupieux's upcoming "Full Phil": they are Woody Harrelson and Kristen Stewart.
