What a great guest, BROTHER! The Hulkster made a few appearances on The Preston & Steve Show over the years. After learning of his passing, we dug up the audio to revisit those moments. They were great conversations. Enjoy listening back to our time spent with Hulk Hogan. For the first interview, Casey opened the conversation by referencing two iconic moments in WWF history—Hulk Hogan body-slamming Big John Stud and Andre the Giant. When asked how he prepared, Hogan insisted he didn’t. He compared it to riding a bike, playing guitar, or making love; more instinct than rehearsal. He continued to discuss his then-current work with TNA, describing the work as “wrestling like it should be.” Unlike the seemingly more family-friendly, scripted vibe of WWF, TNA harnessed a more traditional, genuine feel of wrestling, but with more edge. He touched a little on his changing family dynamics, mentioning his kids and his new wife at the time. He offered a bit of insider information about wrestling in the 80s and 90s, then finishing the interview with an iconic “Be cool and eat fruit.” Three years later, Hulk Hogan made a return to the Preston & Steve show to advertise his upcoming appearances on TNA. He began by expressing his love for WMMR and the guys mentioned how the recent buzz around him has made it feel like the golden days again. He recalled a Fan Expo from the year before where he took a staged-fall in an arm wrestle with the mayor of Toronto, making the mayor a local hero while also ensuring goodwill in himself in case he ever got into trouble there. After offering some insight about opening your heart and changing your mindset, Hogan shared his immense adoration for Philadelphia. He claimed that he always looked forward to visiting Philly, even if he was exhausted from his busy schedule. After offering a little insider information about what he planned to do on TNA the following week, Preston bids him goodbye with a call-back to his original interview by saying, “Be cool and eat fruit!” Hogan responds with a familiar, “Whatcha gonna do, brother?!” and the interview concludes.

Last time we talked to Daughtry was back in November, when he stopped by the Camp Out For Hunger to promote a show in Atlantic City. This past Friday, Chris and guitarist Brian Craddock stopped by the Preston & Steve studio to promote a new song and their show in Atlantic City that night with Breaking Benjamin. They started off with a quick hello and then got right into rocking, because Chris wanted to make sure he wouldn’t lose his voice during the performance so early in the morning. The first song was their brand new song “Pieces”, which was released earlier that morning. They followed that up with their 2021 hit “Heavy Is The Crown”. Preston and Steve were blown away with how "un-freaking-real" Chris's voice is, especially so early after performing the night before. After the two songs Chris and Brian chatted with Preston & Steve. They talked about Chris finding his voice and realizing he had something with it, the potential of being burnt out by his own music while creating it, and the car/headphone test with new music. They chat about rolling up like a baller in his tour bus, working out on the road in hotel gyms, and being star struck with celebrities. Brian tells a great story of the time he met Don Henley at a Grammy's after party, where he might have "had a few wobbly pops." He also expands on his time on American Idol and how it opened all the doors for his career but also hindered (in his mind) his credibility to rock radio in the start.

"Celebrity Jeopardy!" Million Dollar Winner, Lisa Ann Walter, checks in with The Preston & Steve Show From Parent Trap to winning one million dollars for charity on Celebrity Jeopardy!, star of Abbott Elementary, Lisa Ann Walter graced the airwaves this morning. We flooded the phone line with congratulatory praise, but Lisa was more than excited to tell us about her nerves going into last night's big show. Anxiety levels were running high on the night of filming. We learned that while pressing the button early didn't affect her score, Lisa did admit to sitting out on questions she could confidently answer. The shining moment of the night came when answering a question about Villanova University. Lisa whipped out the accent she perfected on screen so many years ago and answered/asked, “Wut es Phil-uh-delfia.” Lemme tell ya, that jawn was on point. If you are not familiar with the format of Celebrity Jeopardy!, the famous contestants faceoff in a series of tournaments, then the top three faceoff in the finals. This year is came down to CBS Sunday Mornings’ correspondent Mo Rocca, sports commentator, Katie Nolan and of course, the inevitable champion. The million dollar prize is heading to an organization close to Lisa’s heart. She proudly chose the Entertainment Community Fund as the recipient of her prize winnings. The money will be going to actors and writers affected by the Hollywood strike. On the big night of the primetime debut of the show, Lisa Ann hosted a watch party with family and friends. Spoiler alert- she already knew she friggin won! It was a short check before hitting the hair and make-up trailer on set. Oh, yeah, “Abbott Elementary” is back filming. Season 3 debuts February 7th on ABC.

How did an article in the Entertainment Report [https://wmmr.com/2023/08/02/livestream-wednesday-august-2-2023/] turn into one of the greatest calls Preston & Steve [http://prestonandsteve.com] have ever received? Honestly, we aren’t quite sure either, but we are going try to unpack this segment of our show. As Preston went through the daily Entertainment Report, he began to read that a few of Lizzo’s ex backup dancers [https://www.vox.com/culture/2023/8/3/23819049/lizzo-sexual-harassment-lawsuit-dancers-hostile-work-environment] are suing for sexual harassment charges. One dancer says that Lizzo pressured her to touch a nude performer at a club in Amsterdam. The lawsuit details different features of the bar, including its banana theme and nudity. None of it has been confirmed. That was until Mike called in to share that he had been to that bar in Amsterdam. He went on to give many details, maybe a few too many details, about “Bananenbar [https://www.inyourpocket.com/Amsterdam/The-Bananen-Bar-and-Club_93570v]”. He explained that the strip bar was exactly how the women in the case explained it: lots of nudity, lots of drinking, and lots of bananas. He and his brothers were in town to see a Ween concert, [https://brownbase.org/show_filter.php?band=Ween&city=Amsterdam&country=Netherlands] but boy, did they see a lot more than that. For your sake, we won’t get into the nitty gritty details. But if you want to hear more about what this bar really offered, you can check out clips of phone.
