Why the US Suddenly Shifted on Iran

For context we recorded this at 9am Central on Friday June 19th. One week ago the US stance was zero nuclear enrichment for Iran, they had to hand over all of their highly enriched uranium and the ballistic missile program had to be destroyed. Today, President Trump has said that only fair that Iran keeps their missiles, that we’re in no rush to get the highly enriched uranium and future enrichment is ok for civilian purposes. That is a dramatic change in a very short period of time so if you’re confused, just know that so am I. It’s not just the direct effect on the war effort, but Russia is starting to show signs of domestic fuel shortages as well. According to Reuters, Russia one of the world’s largest oil exporters, is set to import fuel this month as Ukraine continues to burn their refineries across the country. There’s a bit of a snowball effect playing out right now that Russia is having a hard time stopping. Leaked Terms Hint at Major US Concessions to Iran

A new leak purports to show the text of the US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding and it's not great. From this document, which US officials have not yet commented on, it appears that Iran's negotiating position has increased while ours decreased throughout the war. In comparing terms before the beginning of hostilities to this document, there a number of areas where Iran gets relief but significant US demands are left unaddressed. I'd like to stress again that US officials have not confirmed or denied this leak and as of recording the official stance is that the terms may be released at a later date.
