episode Trauma (part 1; Healing from Trauma) cover

Description

In this episode, I talk through the basics of trauma and give an analogy about a physical wound healing and briefly talk about how healing from trauma can look/feel like. I use the definition of trauma as stated in: Healing the Heart; Helping Your Child Thrive After Trauma by Christine Fonseca (in the video I said she was a PhD which I later learned is incorrect, but she is highly experienced and knowledgeable about trauma, and it is true that she’s a Psychologist). You are loved! You are not defined by your trauma, and it is possible to live a life not controlled by the fears/triggers of trauma.

Spiritual Warfare

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭12‬ ‭ In this episode I share Bible verses such as 1 Peter 5:8-9, James 4:7, and Ephesians 6:11-18, and discussed how these verses relate to spiritual warfare. I also shared some personal examples of what spiritual attacks have looked like in my life, so that you can better recognize them in your own life. There are 2 important “R’s” to remember when it comes to spiritual warfare: recognize & resist. Note: At one point I mention that Satan wants you to believe you’re alone, and I tried to quote (but messed up) Proverbs 18:1, “Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment.” This was in context of believing the lies from Satan that you are alone and that no one understands, and I was trying to use this verse to explain how it’s not good to isolate yourself. Overall, remember that God is the King of Kings, and He has ALL power over Satan! God is in control! “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭16‬:‭20‬
