Hannah tells us about her first birth where she has the typical regulated midwifery experience in a birth center and the journey of going on to opt out of the obstetric system (and branches of it) entirely and has births free of unnecessary medical interruptions with only her husband present. We, of course, get into discussions about the many issues with industrialized birth, and you will hear both of my children in the background of this one. Enjoy!

We are kicking off the podcast strong with Cielo’s story. She shares about her first birth in the hospital that led to a c section, and after this experience she decided to opt out of re entering into the system that harmed her & had her first freebirth when she experienced a miscarriage. When she gets pregnant again she goes on to have a lovely wild pregnancy & powerful redemptive freebirth. We also talk about the normalization of rape culture in the obstetric system, breastfeeding, & more.
