Love is the Mission // Salvific Love Vs. Burdened Obedience (1 John 5:1-4)

As we seek relationship with Jesus, we have the opportunity to know the God of the Universe and understand how deep His love is. However, as we seek to follow Him and live out His commands, we are faced with a question: Are we following Him out of obligation or out of overflow of love? As we look at 1 John 5, we see that only His love is the way to go, and any other way of following Him will lead to feeling burdened by following the way of a perfect God. In the wake of cultural hostility, we take a moment to address what it means to have Jesus as the source of our love. In today’s sermon, we address that love we produce will come from what we abide in. Love is the Mission // The Epitome of Love (1 John 4:7-16a)

In this new series, we’re going finish off our theme for the year of “Life On Mission” with the idea that Love is the ultimate mission. Walking With God // Walking In Truth With God (1 John 4:1-6)

Walking with God is intimate and personal. However, the ways of the world seem to offer us counterfeit versions of that same intimacy. They draw us away from knowing who God truly is, which as a default, draws us away from his love.
