Ephesians 5:25-27 Do I have to be a part of a local church if I’m a Christian? There are a tonne of reasons people give to not be involved in a church. The local church today; is irrelevant to society; is full of hypocrites; hurts more than it helps; is not the church we see in the New Testament; is unimportant because I’m part of the universal church… We begin a new sermon series at Redeemer called “Grace Made Visible” exploring what a Church is and what it means for Christians. In this sermon, Ps Anthony starts our series with why the church, and more specifically the local church, is so important to Christ and why it should be to us – Jesus really loves his Bride the church, he really gave himself for her, and Christians are called to really love her too.

Luke 24:36-53 In this final sermon in the Gospel of Luke series, Ps Rich preaches on the resurrected Jesus and why our testimony should have the three marks of proof, power of the Spirit and joy when we are in Christ. And this reformed Presbyterian takes a cheeky swing at the reformed Baptists.

Luke 24:13-35

Behold the empty tomb. Luke 23:50- 24:12 Ps Anthony preaches on the resurrection of Jesus and why that sabbath day was important. Who was Joseph of Arimathea and how is he an encouragement for us today? “Measure not God’s love and favour by your own feeling. The sun shines as clearly in the darkest day as it does in the brightest. The difference is not in the sun, but in some clouds which hinder the manifestation of the light thereof.” Richard Sibbes

Luke 23:26-49 Ps Anthony preaches on the death of Christ. Why is it important that he actually physically died? What does this mean for the christian and for the world? We look at Simon of Cyrene, the two criminals who died either side of Jesus, the centurion, and others who were present. Why is this tragic, historical event good news for us?
