Soft Life with God
We’ve all heard the advice. “Slow down.” “Rest.” “Stop rushing.” “Regulate your nervous system.” But what happens when slowing down doesn’t actually feel relaxing? What happens when you finally sit down and your mind immediately starts telling you all the things you should be doing instead? In this episode, we’re talking about the hidden cost of slowing down and why creating a softer life is often more uncomfortable than people expect. We explore: * Why rest can feel stressful instead of peaceful * The guilt many women experience when they stop being productive * What slowing down revealed about my own burnout and nervous system * The mistake I made when I swung too far from high-functioning to non-functioning * Two practical ways to create lasting change without turning your whole life upside down * Why small daily habits often create more transformation than dramatic life overhauls * How faith helps us move at a healthier pace while still honoring our responsibilities One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that slowing down isn’t just about doing less. It’s about becoming present enough to notice what we’ve been running from. The racing thoughts. The anxiety. The exhaustion. The pressure we’ve been putting on ourselves for years. It’s uncomfortable at first, but it’s also where healing begins. If you’re recovering from burnout, feeling stuck in constant productivity, or trying to create a softer and more peaceful life, this episode is for you. A Note About Retreats In this episode, I share why retreats have been one of my favorite ways to hit the reset button and reconnect with God, myself, and what truly matters. Sometimes the fastest way to slow down is to step outside of your normal environment and create space to hear yourself think again. If you’re interested in joining a future retreat, send me your email through Instagram or Substack and I’ll add you to the waitlist.
