LRPD’s Youth Camp is more than just a summer program—it’s an opportunity to build lasting connections between our officers and the young people in our community. Throughout the camp, kids engage in fun, hands-on activities while getting to know the officers behind the badge. These shared experiences help break down barriers, build trust, and create open lines of communication. For our officers, it’s a chance to mentor, listen, and better understand the perspectives of the youth they serve. When young people and law enforcement connect in a positive, supportive environment, it strengthens relationships that extend far beyond the camp—and into our neighborhoods.

Drones have become a highly effective tool in modern policing, giving officers a safer, faster view of what is happening on the ground. They help improve response times, enhance situational awareness, and keep both officers and community members safer during critical incidents. It’s long hours, tough decisions, and a responsibility that doesn’t end when the uniform comes off – but it’s also an incredible honor to serve alongside the men and women who protect our community.
