Darcy is responsible for enabling high-quality digital experiences in support of day-to-day productivity and collaboration, learning, support services, digital engagement, administrative services, and student services. Her University of Arizona portfolio includes the departments of Administrative Technologies, Digital Experience Technologies, and Student and Academic Technologies. Darcy leads through the lens of innovating the business through technology enablement and human-centered collaborative problem solving – always with an eye toward creating the most valuable outcomes in support of the University’s mission and delivering a high-quality digital experience for our faculty, staff, students, and strategic constituents.  Darcy has been with the University of Arizona since 2017, when she led Student and Academic Technologies and the Trellis CRM program. She was appointed CTO in April 2021. Darcy has over 15 years of experience in product design, software development, and IT in higher education, with additional experience as a researcher, business consultant, and non-profit leader. She has a Bachelor of Science in Oceanography from the University of Washington and a Master of Science in Digital Audience Strategy from Arizona State University.

Maysoon is the Executive Director of Campus IT Partnerships (CITP), creating and fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, innovation, and value across the University of Arizona. Maysoon relies on proactive business relationship management for building trust and improving partnerships across the university, which is at the core of a business-driven service delivery strategy. Over the past twenty-four years, she has held several leadership positions within the IT community on the University of Arizona (UA) campus that were direct IT campus initiatives as well as those that created a community among IT professionals. Chairing the steering committee for the inaugural UA IT Summit event and being a co-founder of the UA Women in Technology group, are two examples of encouraging and strengthening the campus community in IT. Maysoon has 20 years of experience supporting and providing leadership to the Human Resources Division and the College of Medicine – Tucson before joining UITS in January 2021.

Episode 17: Ian MacSpadden

Barry's guest for this episode is Ian MacSpadden Chief Technology Officer at  Arizona Public Media. Ian has leveraged his facility design experience for the University’s public media sector for the last ten years.  At Arizona Public Media (AZPM), he leads the team that has designed their greenfield IP-based TV, radio, and streaming facility that broke ground in January 2024. The facility is designed to be a sharable model for public media with the implementation of VR studios, SMPTE 2110 video routing and impactful spaces for community engagement.  At AZPBS he helped launch the first PBS station in ATSC 3.0 through a partnership with the PEARL Group’s Phoenix model market test. He then upgraded their studio & field production systems to 4K capability from lens to final edit, which helped convince the PBS NewsHour to partner and locate their West Coast Bureau in their studios.
