[https://panhandleprogress.blog/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/dsc_0010.jpg]Alex Wubbles R.N. was arrested and detained by Jeff Payne, a Salt Lake City detective, for not complying with an order to allow him to draw blood from the victim of a motor vehicle collision. The police department and the hospital’s administration agreed to a list of criteria by which blood could be drawn from a patient in the hospital. When Nurse Wubbles informed Detective Payne that he could not draw blood because the patient was not under arrest, and he didn’t provide the hospital with a warrant, he became very angry and subsequently placed Wubbles under arrest. Click here [https://youtu.be/ihQ1-LQOkns] to see the video [https://youtu.be/ihQ1-LQOkns] of Detective Payne performing an unlawful arrest of a healthcare worker for simply protecting  the rights of a patient and adhering to the law. This video went viral and was shared hundreds of thousands of times on facebook and other social media outlets. In this week’s post, Alisha and I discuss police aggression, and I call out my facebook community for their hypocrisy. Hope you enjoy!

White Supremacy in the Aftermath of Charlottesville

Vice News [https://news.vice.com/en_us] aired a news story in the aftermath of the protests in Charlottesville that shook me to my core. As I perused through my facebook [https://www.facebook.com/The-Adrenaline-508256929508721/] and twitter [https://twitter.com/AdrenalinePod] feeds I noticed many followers either sharing the video on their facebook feeds or commenting on the jarring nature of its content. In this very first episode of The Adrenaline Podcast, I dissect white supremacy as depicted in the Vice News Story [https://youtu.be/RIrcB1sAN8I]. Watch it here [https://youtu.be/RIrcB1sAN8I]. Alisha Cigalotti [https://twitter.com/ohozilline] is my guest and we discuss how the events in Charlottesville shine a light on the intersections of race and politics in The American South.
