Sn 5 Ep 11: A Lamp Under the Bed

In Mat 5:14-16, Christ talks about a city on a hill, whose light can be seen by everyone. He also likens us to a lamp that is put on a lampstand to light the whole room instead of being hidden under the bed. He says nobody lights a lamp to place it under the bed. Where is your lamp? Is your lamp hidden under the bed where it cannot shade light to a room full of unbelievers who are in dire need of light. In this episode I implore you and me to truly shine in private as well as in public. It is of no use to be a Christian in private, while denying Christ in public through our actions. Sn 5 Ep 10: A Faithful God and a Rebellious Israel

Have you ever thought about why Israel did not manage to continuously obey the Lord and walk in His ways, even though God did everything He could including manifesting His power in miracles that have never been seen before? In Psalms 78, David recounts the failure of his ancestors and how they kept rebelling against God even when He showed the care every other time. And here is a lesson to us: God remains faithful even when we leave him to chase after idols. There is nothing our God cannot do for us, yet we always leave him to unite ourselves in idols and the ways of the world. Sn 5 Ep 9: This year. Serve the Lord!

In Joshua 24:14-15, the servant of the Lord is giving his final instructions to the children of Israel and he charges them with the choice to either serve other gods which they served beyond the Jordan, or to serve the true God. You and I needs to make a decision this year to serve the Lord in spirit and truth. Whatever prevented you from serving God faithfully last year, put it aside this year and serve the Lord. Paul states that nothing should be able to separate us from the love of God. I say that this year, nothing should make you not serve the Lord. Whatever sin you have been battling, give it to Christ this year and be free to serve God. May God bless you abundantly and may He give you the courage to make a decision for Him. Sn 5 Ep 8: Waiting on God

In the book of 1 Samuel 13, the Bible teches us patience and waiting on God's word even when everything around is failing. Samuel tells the story of when Saul is faced with a decisive battle against a Philistine army that is described as, "numerous as sand on the seashore." Meanwhile Saul had selected for himself 3000 men, and by the time he is ready to battle, only 600 we're left with him. The Bible says, "When the Israelites saw that their situation was critical and that their army was hard pressed, they hid in caves and thickets, among the rocks, and in pits and cisterns. " All this time, Saul was waiting for then prophet Samuel to come and offer sacrifices to God. When Saul had waited for 7 days without the sign of Samuel, he decided, with full knowledge of consequences to offer burn offerings, something that was a preserve of priests. I have learned that God can keep us waiting to test us. And most of us fail because of hastiness. Jacob went through so much pain and anguish because he could not wait for God's timing, even though the promise had been made and the Messiah would come from his lineage. He still felt that perhaps God had meant the first born which he was not. The Bible says that Hannah prayed for a child "year after year. " This year I pray that whatever you are going through, whatever you are waiting for, that you may have patience and wait on God. Sn 5 Ep 7: Two Testimonies

In Psalms 9:1-4, David is telling us to praise the Lord and tell of His wonderful works. I want to add that you and I need to form the habit of always telling the wonderful works that God has wrought to us. There's no powerful sermon like a testimony. God is doing wonderful things for His people daily, but the negative works of Satan and his hosts crowds out the good things happening around us to the point where it looks like God does not care or He does not exist. We see the manifestation of evil everywhere, but there are also manifestations of the Holy Spirit and the works of God that we can help show the world. Tell your story. Someone needs to hear it.
