What is a True Disciple?

In our passage, we are exhorted that true discipleship demands radical allegiance to Christ as our Master, as we assess whether our commitment to Him distinguishes us from the world.

Jesus warns His followers to avoid the heart corrupting religious practices motivated by man’s recognition rather than by God’s, so that they might not be deceived by temporal rewards but chase a reward from their Heavenly Father.

Love Connections, Pt 2

We are called to maintain unity and pursue maturity in the local church, having been reconciled to Christ by His love and saving work, so that we grow up together in love. In the second half of this passage, God shows that Christ has gifted the church in two ways, so that, as each member does their part, the whole body grows together in unity, spiritual maturity, and Christlikeness by God’s grace.
